One I have not seen mentioned is Levon Helm from The Band.

I Love Cornell, Cash, Nora Jones

Collectively The Band is a favorite for harmonies and there's something about how Danko played that resonates.

Dennis DeYoung.

The current version of Styx is just not the same without his voice.
Really enjoy DeYoung's voice as well. I agree Styx ain't Styx without him just like Journey ain't Journey without Steve Perry (another amazing vocalist).

This raw vocal track from 'Pressure' is pretty amazing too. Obviously Freddy is arguably the best rock vocalist ever, but Bowie gets overlooked for just how amazing a vocalist he was.

Barbra Streisand.
Ethereal is the only word I can come up with to describe Streisand's voice. Here she is performing "The way we were":

This was the title song of a movie she starred in. And, btw, make no mistake about it, *she* starred in it, and the co-start was none other than the biggest male sex symbol of the late 20th century, Robert Redford.

His vocal on the big drop on “tribute” is as good as anything in metal and hair rock genres they are riffing on.
For sure. Then he goes and does something like this…I missed this 7 years ago when it came out.

You know who had an amazing rock voice? Klaus Meine.

Saw Styx live in the JTS lots during a Ragbrai stopover. I don’t know if it was as bad as it was just bizarre. Those guys have had so much plastic surgery that they could pull their socks up when they smile.

A personal favorite of mine, and a national treasure of Australia, is Judith Durham, a classically trained pianist/vocalist. She joined The Seekers, a folk/gospel group in the mid 60s as the lead singer. In the U.S., they are known for Georgi Girl. But internationally, their calling card was I'll Never Find Another You. Here is a recording from Abbey Road studio in London, just upstairs from The Beatles' home studio. Girl got pipes!!

And she could wail on the drums (about 3:30 in this clip).

She was an incredibly talented person! The more I learn about her...the more sad for her I get...and she has been gone a long time! Fortunately we have her recorded voice to enjoy...not too many voices like that one ever!

GREAT call! I found my way into hearing that group on one of my YouTube music dives and really enjoyed listening to them!
