Will be starting year 7 of officiating HS football tonight - I pull in ~$2,500-$3k doing that each fall.

Serious question, because you are a beloved poster by all.

Can you give us your eye exam history?

Maybe we can confirm or deny a stereotype here. Are we talking breezing through the bottom line, or are we talking thick soda bottle glasses.

I did baseball for a decade. It’s good money if you can put up with comes with it. I think football would be better.

Certain positions in football do make it easier to put up with the junk. Reminds me of one time during a fall scrimmage in the Rhoads era. The coaches were roaming the field like they do during practice so coach Elliott was well behind the secondary. The back judge threw what he thought was an incorrect DPI flag. Elliott went off on him since he was back there. Eventually Rhoads strolled over and just says "You don't get that much back here do you?"

I keep thinking I want to ump when I retire for Freshman games. 10AM for the 1st pitch would keep most of the parents away.

Not as much anymore since the third kiddo was born but have done a bunch to my own house. New bedroom/closet for the oldest downstairs, deck and deck rail, fence, new patio, etc within the last year. Redoing a portion of the neighbors fence soon. Some open shelving for a new kitchen for someone else. I pretty much do enough to keep feeding myself new tools and stuff.

Remind me to ask you if you can do another small project for us!! Janny keeps asking if I have asked you yet, and I keep forgetting.

I do a lot of charity and nonprofit work. I used to do photography on the side, but I don’t enjoy the stuff that is profitable (weddings, in particular). So I just do it for fun for friends, and I don’t accept money - they usually give me gift cards.

I have thought about doing trip planning for others, but not sure how best to approach.

You don’t want to do that. You don’t want that at all. Trust me.

Not me but I had a family member that would go to banks and trade in cash for half dollars, weed out the silver ones, sell those, and return the rest. Banks caught on but took years...
