Not exactly sure.
I guess the head greenskeeper WAS Irish, but I don't remember any scene or dialogue linking them as related.
I think he was Scottish now that I think of it, was she scottish also? I remember irish or scottish, but don't remember which.

I had to go check. They were not related if last names on the show mean anything

It wasn't a big box office hit but was a massive critical success. It was up for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor that year.
I have never seen it all the way through. I have seen the end and excerpts several times but just never sat down to watch it all the way through. So many "classic" movies I've just never bothered to pursue. And I don't have any kind of bias against old movies or black and white offerings.

The ending was hilarious.

Director Robert Zemeckis once said Stoltz was playing the role too seriously, like it was a drama instead of a comedic action/adventure.
Stoltz is actually still in the movie. In the diner scene where Marty punches Biff, it's Stoltz's fist. They didn't reshoot that one after switching to MJF since it was just a closeup of Biff.

Just watched some clips and yeah he's just not as wide eyed and goofy.

Just like Kevin Costner was in The Big Chill. He was Alex, the guy they were all coming back to bury. The scenes with him were deleted but he is still in the coffin at the funeral.
