This is the dumbest thing I’ve read.

You get to see your favorite team play. Campbell talks about how appreciative he is of the fans. Your return on investment is seeing your favorite team win.
Please, please, please.....I was joking and being sarcastic. I was making light of the comments on this board about people that refuse to justify $1 month for the cyclone club, the collective or any donation to cyclone athletics.

They’ve been begging people to buy tickets all season. What the hell is going on? Like, I get the first two home opponent were weak, but that’s still kind of embarrassing.

I think after the hype last yr the fair weather fans dropped off again I would think 3-0 will start bringing them back. To be fair though I considered dropping my FB tickets this yr. It takes a fair amount of time to attend a game compared to just turning on the radio/TV.

Then I thought about how fun it was even though it wasn't the yr some expected and I renewed anyway. I did switch to mobile passes this yr and they have been better seats than my seats last yr.

What do I get for it?
I have to walk to far.
I never get a call or a thank you.
What's my return on investment?

Sorry to be so cynical, but this stuff truly exists.

I'm pretty sure you've got tickets don't you? If I remember your posting from other threads. But those complaints have all been said.

Agree that we’re lacking the hype that brings the marginal “last” group of fans or walk-up type. 2-5 in close games, and constipated play in some of the more important games to fans (uni, Iowa, Clemson) was a buzz kill. Some economic things also working against it.

10 years ago this means 48k. 20 years ago 38k. Good to see the base is probably up to 55k+, with hype and buzz getting us 61k+

Steak tartare buddy. ;)
Oh man, I hadn't heard that term/dish in ages! Raw meat, often with a raw egg on top, has gone out of style.

Um, rightfully so! LOL

Ageed though. Let's serve up some bear steak tartare on Saturday!! :p

Some of the best crowds ISU has had were non sell outs. Its all about the attitude of the crowd. That famous Jeff Woody game vs OSU on Thursday night had a weird off the hook vibe, and the upper deck was hardly half full after halftime.

Lol, Kansas with 23 votes. Let’s pump the brakes a little bit.
It's definitely going to be a game there, this year.

And as much as most of us all strongly dislike KU, it is actually a good thing that their football program is improving. Good for the Big 12.

Some of the students had already left for Thanksgiving week break, especially ones taking the buses to some of the bigger nearby cities.

We went back to Helser after the game to pick up our son and his stuff and the dorms were unusually off the chain crazy.

Saw we put up like 500 yards last year and they were a couple hundred behind and we still lost. Need to clean up the penalties and ST

There is no reason to think that can or will happen. Campbell's been amazing, but his refusal to acknowledge he can't (nor can anyone else on the staff) coach/fix the special teams mess is inexcusable. He should have owned up and hired a ST coordinator at least 3 years ago (like we need a TEs coach or a S AND a CB coach). We can't block, cover, punt or kick (outside Mevis) and it's been that way his entire tenure. The fiascos have literally cost us 2-3 wins vs Iowa and possibly 2-3 games a year.

This year is no different. Iowa would have been a 2 TD (at least) victory if our STs were simply average. Last week it wasn't as much of a factor as we rarely punted and were putting the ball in the end zone. I think we will have to outplay Baylor on offense and defense (collectively) to where it would likely result (with an average ST unit) in a 14 point victory. I'm expecting at least 1 long return by Baylor, horrendous punting, and shaky kicking that will put us in a tough spot.

Personally I'm hoping our DBs do a much better job of making tackles (they were terrible last week), the LOS (on both sides) play is better than it was last week, and we keep TOs to one or less. Need to play a near perfect game to overcome what will likely be another sizeable STs disparity.

At this moment I've got them as a slight favorite (assuming they beat Duke). The combination of a legit offense, the hype/emotion, playing at home, and the ability to kill on on STs should make that a very tough game. Leipold has done a phenomenal job there.

I wouldn’t say begging. We have had 57k and 58k sold. Since Campbell hit his stride that’s about the low point tickets sold wise. This seasons team does not have the hype behind it that it normally does. That’s still historically GREAT attendance this season.

Oh they’ve surely improved. But putting them in the top 25 is a bit premature.
