It can't be that hard to put one camera on the opposite side, can it?To some extent, you also want them in view of the primary TV cameras (which are all on the west side, facing east) for atmosphere/reax shots.

I'm not knowledgeable on camera placement, and I'm honestly not understanding the problem. What makes it so difficult? If it were easy to put a hard camera on the opposite side, they'd do it everywhere.
Well, we aren't allowed to tackle the same as other teams on the field, so no reason they can't make our students move, while allowing other teams' students to stay behind the visiting bench.that may be true, but Baylor's student section (which is defined seating compared to the rest of McLane stadium) is right behind the visitor's bench as well...same with K-State's, and Kansas'

Okay...then why not have one of the cameras on the local side have pivoting capabilities? You're wanting to put a camera on the opposite side of the stadium from the production truck.
There's no built-in place for it, like there are on the west side (photo bay and two platforms) and in the end zones (above the scoreboard). There are also cable runs and hookups to ponder.
It's a lot of extra work if the goal is just to shoot the student section.
Nebraska was awful. One of my friends was a flag twirler in the band and a couple of their fans tried to tear her uniform shirt off her when we were leaving the stadium.Nebraska was the worst, as I told Conner on his Always Race Day podcast I got spit on by Nebraska fans walking to the field from the locker room.
I'm in section 4, so I wouldn't want this, but they should have put the students on the West side of hte stadium and left the band alone. Would have been a very similar experience.
Now that's too late, so they'd be better off to put the band in the SW corner of the stadium. Somewhat near the students.
I like the grass, but if they bowled in the north grass and put the students in there, it would work.
Or hire some of those house-moving guys you see on TV and swap the Bergman and the SEZ. That would work too![]()
Last Saturday, I specifically looked at the student section while the band was doing cyclone aerobics, I'd say at most 5% of them were engaged while it used to be a fully coordinated effort. The current layout has definitely severed that connection. I'd like to see students moved to the NW corner as previously suggested.
Even so, the crowd in general was solid and raucous when it mattered, particularly after the BS calls in the first half.
To further pile on the sound system, it is so loud and distorted I can't talk to the people next to me without yelling over the constant stream of ads and disjointed music selection. I'm in my 30s, can't imagine the experience for older folks.
Last, the TJ Tampa "make some noise" clip is insanely distorted.
The sound level on those speakers about make one's ears bleed. Often sort of distorted sound also like playing a boom box above its limits.
Section 20. It was just as bad last year.Where are you sitting where it's too loud? Nothing has changed in Section 1.
Section 19.Where are you sitting? Haven't noticed a change in Section 1.
If they had to move….It does begs the question, why didn’t they just move the students directly across to the West side? They could still interact with the band and be facing the opponent. They need to install bleachers/seating on the NW corner of the stadium, where the grass hill currently is, and place students there. Moves students next to the band, on the ISU side. Would also free up additional seating for season ticket holders.
That works. Also, waving three fingers on third down doesnt do much, I would rather the studentsmake more noise in that situation. They are usually the loudest sections, but seem quieter on 3rd downs. The student section needs to get strategic about stomping its feet. Ben Bruns said at the time when they were building the SEZ that they made the lower level out of metal so that it would be noisy. The students could affect the outcome of the game if they maximized the noise that would come from stomping their feet when an opponent has the ball on that end.
Front row of D last year, halfway down 8 this year. Both equally bad.Where are you sitting? Haven't noticed a change in Section 1.
This is clearly an upper level issue, as a result, I am not sure what the fix is.The sound level on those speakers about make one's ears bleed. Often sort of distorted sound also like playing a boom box above its limits.
