I haven't noticed any difference other than they can't do the giant flag thing that they were doing for a few years. That was kinda cool, but I don't think it's a huge deal. Atmosphere wise is no different IMO.
But then where would the return of the hot tubs go?Probably could put the band in the first few rows of the SEZ. Those guys don't come out of the Sukup area except for a couple plays and there are always empty seats. Make the place deeper and sell tickets just to that area since some people don't use their seats.
THIS
AND THIS.
I used to wear my headphones to hear the radio broadcast. While that's the main reason, I'm also glad I have them so my ears don't bleed from that godawful blaring, screening insane decibel level crap from the main speaker.
Was Kansas State forced to move their student section? Their setup is almost exactly like ours was.It absolutely was almost exclusively a Big 12 decision. It all had to do with field storms and imaginary issues that people came up with.
I was critical of the environment for the first two games but I thought it was better this week. Still a downgrade but it is workable.
Yes, last time I went to an ISU game I went out a week later and bought noise cancelling 3M AM/FM headset for the next game I go to. I then emailed the email and the reply back was basically, 'we disagree'. I was sure they would fix things up this year, but clearly not.
Where the band was. Knock those down and you can hot tub under JPs deck. But then where would the return of the hot tubs go?
From my experiences in the Jack the issue seems to be in the upper deck corners. It is LOUD up there but the rest of the stadium doesn't seem so bad.Yes, last time I went to an ISU game I went out a week later and bought noise cancelling 3M AM/FM headset for the next game I go to. I was in B, so I agree this makes perfect sense. From my experiences in the Jack the issue seems to be in the upper deck corners. It is LOUD up there but the rest of the stadium doesn't seem so bad.

Why you know it was two pronged. One was safety, to avoid the student, opposing player crossings and second was money. If it was strictly safety of opposing fans, move the students to the west. Would still cover that, Or flip flop the east. That would have moved me, but I would have had the same seats but on the north 15 yard line instead of south 15. Wouldn't have affected me much at all. People on the 30-40s would have seen basically no change. We're not talking about where the student section is during the game. We're talking about how/where they come on to the field after the game.
We run through like 8 songs in 3 minutes right before the game, it's really odd.Honestly, the university run game environment provides zero to fan engagement. The music and the time it's played is horrible, the speaker system is ****** to begin with, the cheers and the chants other than a well done "cyclone power" are not good. Time to replace whatever boomer is in charge of this stuff and get someone young in with more creative ideas.

Was going to pick up better tickets next time which will probably be OU.
I hadn't noticed until the first post that the Cyclone Power chant was gone. From my seats in the NW part of the stadium I thought the students seemed plenty loud to open the game. After that, it wasn't as obvious, but then there wasn't as much to get excited about.
So why not move them directly opposite, to the west side of the field? Same location near the band and away form the oppossing team.@ChrisMWilliams mentioned in a podcast that the move might not have been entirely up to ISU, and that the conference may have encouraged it due to past incidents between fans and the opposing teams while trying to get off the field.
