They need to install bleachers/seating on the NW corner of the stadium, where the grass hill currently is, and place students there. Moves students next to the band, on the ISU side. Would also free up additional seating for season ticket holders.
Won't happen friend. That would block JP's view of the field from his office...kinda kidding...maybe...

Not exactly related but why don't we play juicy wiggle between the 3rd and 4th quarter rather than only after we score in the second half? The students have dance moves that's really cool and we all need to learn the moves and do this as our lead in to the 4th quarter.

I'm in section 4, so I wouldn't want this, but they should have put the students on the West side of hte stadium and left the band alone. Would have been a very similar experience.

Now that's too late, so they'd be better off to put the band in the SW corner of the stadium. Somewhat near the students.

I like the grass, but if they bowled in the north grass and put the students in there, it would work.

Or hire some of those house-moving guys you see on TV and swap the Bergman and the SEZ. That would work too :jimlad:

I've always thought a bowled in NEZ with the students on either side of the band would be great. Texas Tech has that setup right now for part of their student section

THIS

AND THIS.

I used to wear my headphones to hear the radio broadcast. While that's the main reason, I'm also glad I have them so my ears don't bleed from that godawful blaring, screening insane decibel level crap from the main speaker.
The sound level on those speakers about make one's ears bleed. Often sort of distorted sound also like playing a boom box above its limits.

We're not talking about where the student section is during the game. We're talking about how/where they come on to the field after the game.
Again, how is it different from Kansas state? KSU students are located on the east sideline right behind the visiting teams bench. If they storm the field, it’s no different.

Probably haven’t stormed the field under Bowlsby time.

Honestly, the university run game environment provides zero to fan engagement. The music and the time it's played is horrible, the speaker system is ****** to begin with, the cheers and the chants other than a well done "cyclone power" are not good. Time to replace whatever boomer is in charge of this stuff and get someone young in with more creative ideas.
People won’t like hearing this, but Jack Trice stadium is generally pretty quiet atmosphere minus the blaring of crappy speakers across the stadium.

When was the last time KSU stormed their field?
When was the last time KSU was fined for field storming?
When was the last time the Big 12 was up in KSU's business about field storming/player safety?

There's a lot of room for improvement but I wouldn't go as far to say it's a quiet atmosphere. There's a reason we're 17-2 in the last 19 in the Big 12 at JTS. Like I said, I'd like to see the crowd with some actual help from the AD. Make JTS, Football Hilton

And haven't been called "unprofessional" by an opposing coach.

Let's see what happens at Tech after their incident. The league will say that Tech doesn't have a good enough plan to keep this from happening if what they did at ISU is any indication. Tech should be fined even if Tech is claiming that this was one rogue fan. The entire league has been previously put on notice about this.

As a side note, the fact that this happened at Tech doesn't surprise me in the least. It probably doesn't surprise players and former players like @isufbcurt either. They have been doing nasty crap to the visiting bench like throwing an occasional battery for years.

Maybe a little harsh. As far as the record thing though our team just plays well at home as well. Oklahoma State has a great home record and they have a quiet game atmosphere. Their fans are not loud at all.

The atmosphere was good when the crowd cared. Extremely loud when mad at the refs and during the attempted comeback. The layout of the stadium doesn't matter.

I think you would want your students not to be behind your own bench. When our team is playing defense and the students are yelling, you don't want that noise to be on our bench as the coaches are trying to communicate to each other and players.

I would totally hate this, as I am in section B, and don't really want to be anywhere besides the NW side. However, it is probably the best thing to do.

Alternately, put SOME students in the NW section, and some in the SE corner. Get noise on both sides. Would that thin it down too much? Or encourage the oldsters (like myself) to get louder?

The beginning of the game was one of the loudest I've heard...

Nebraska was the worst, as I told Conner on his Always Race Day podcast I got spit on by Nebraska fans walking to the field from the locker room.
