Way up there
For a guy with a strong arm, Dekkers short arms a ton of throws. He just doesn't have a feel for where to locate balls, even a lot of his completions are poorly thrown. X covers up a lot of his issues. I thought he'd be further along being in his 3rd year but he is still just really raw. He's going to be really inconsistent and the offense will go as he does.

The defense is obviously great, I feel bad they probably won't get the credit they deserve this year.

Silas was a bright spot, really like his ability to catch the ball, need to keep finding ways to get him in space.

This isn't a knock on Dekkers........but a majority of his competition in HS was 2A Iowa ball. Not the level Purdy played in Arizona.

It makes a difference when you have played against this level of talent in HS.

Also, I know this is his first year as the captain.......but he has been in the system for 3 years. He isn't a noobie to CMC's style and vice versa.

That's why some of this offensive confusion is well........confusing.

Maybe it's going to take him some time to get use to this level of football.

We also won at OU, so if that's all we need to do to suddenly catch fire then see ya later Dekkers

That was also after the change to the cloud D and ISU had two legit NFL players like DM and AL.

Good times.

He looks like the game needs to slow down for him.

Of course, that's easier when he's not getting chased around.

We just saw the worst defense we will see. Who is left we can beat?
You're under the impression our young guys on offense won't grow as the season goes on...Here's hoping they will. If we don't get the wins, we don't get the wins...the thing we have to hope for if we DON'T get the wins is we learn from it and get better. Maybe that won't be until next year. But Campbell will get us there again at some point. I refuse to act like entitled Cornhusker fans and will trust the process.

I am curious of historical context to beat a team 59-7 (could of been worse)a year ago and then lose the next year.

That poster said it was the worst they'd seen since CMC has been at ISU. Year 1 counts in that.

Conversely, one of the most dominant wins under CMC came that season vs. Tech.

It’s not over we are just terrible on offense. Not having Brock hurt us… and Dekkers isn’t looking good.

no one on the offense looked good except Noel in the 1st half. Even X looked bad not knowing where the chains are and dropping a td pass.

Bad plays, bad execution. Just all around bad. That game was a D- performance by players and an F by coaches.

The game is not going to slow down to Dekkers' speed. It is on him to speed up his reads and decisions to live game speed. I maintain that the protection has been better than what the sack and hurry totals are showing. He needs to make better pre-snap reads so that he knows sooner where to look and go to when pressure comes.

He has a habit of taking one or two steps to avoid the first guy and then go into a shell and allow the second wave rush to take him down. This is where he needs to make winning plays. Either step and throw to the primary receiver or to a check down, step and go to open space to buy time, or get moving to pick up positive yardage. If none of these are executed in the immediate time frame, throw the ball away to avoid the loss.

Our offense can be summed up by the crossing route to Hutchinson with 2:30 left. Horrible play call, Dekkers is locked in on Hutchinson, KU blitzes that is not picked up meanwhile Silas is wide open along the sidelines and would have likely gone the distance. Ineptitude all over the place.

Its ok though. Im sure its fine that all of Cyclone media still won't ask questions as to why the offense fails this team constantly and why we never win close or toss up games with our current staff because they all like him

Same deal happened with Prohm and he was 1 billion times worse of a coach than Campbell
