If we go 0-9…..

The chances of 0-9 are slim. The last three home games are all winnable. With the way we play defense, you always have a shot to steal one of the road games too.

I know the offense is struggling, but there aren’t going to be wholesale changes in staff. In fact, those might be counterproductive. And there is zero chance that Pollard forces anything. Pollard says the number one sale point for Campbell is that he keeps his nose out of the program.
Imagine not removing all of the tumors and pretending everything will work out.

Make Scheelhaase the OC and let him decide personnel.

So we have lost 3 games to RANKED teams by a total of 11 points! People need to get off the ledge.

Being a fan, is short for fanatic. It means being a half full at worst type person. Seems like we have a lot of fans who are half empty folks AND the glass has a gaping hole in the bottom.

I am still optimistic we can finish 3-3 and hoping for better. Even if we can't, I am 100% confident Matt Campbell will make the needed off-season changes. I don't think he'll need ultimatums from Jamie Pollard.

It always works out great when an AD forces assistant changes on a D1 football coach.

If ISU would go winless in the conference portion of the season, then Yes, changes on the offensive side of the ball will have to be made. No way that Campbell can look the players or the fans in the eye and say, "we are all doing our best to win games," if no changes are made, he risks coming off like the head coach over to the East, arrogant to do what needs to be done, because these people are his friends or family.

Before this thread goes too apeshit, fyi cyjack is a troll.

In 2011 CyJack argued with me for months that LeBron was more clutch and a better player than Jordan.

At that time he had just come off losing an NBA finals where he averaged 9 points less per game less than his regular season average and was the third leading scorer on his own team.

Just to give a little perspective on his level of troll-ness and that it doesn't have to be connected to ISU or Iowa. It can fly in the face of any obvious reality.

IMO we roll with Campbell and trust that he gets things straightened out. More than willing to leave it to Campbell. This is his program. He will get things straightened out.

If we don’t get a B12 win this year, which is increasingly looking like a real possibility, what changes do you see? Does Pollard demand Cambell clean house with assistants? I feel like at minimum the offensive side of the coaching staff needs a total turnover
I would say have TJ coach the football team next year if we go O'fer in the B12....

Absolutely. We can grind our teeth as much as we want at the coaching staff but I’m a firm believer that they are well aware of what they have and game plan around it. Cue the reasons CMC is getting so defensive about the fanbase.

Dekkers needs to get better with his throw accuracy. He’s got a good arm but I feel like it’s very clear that his deep throws are a liability on offense.

First, I think ISU is going to find a way to win 3-4 more games. Realistically they are one or two plays in the last three games from winning the game. One dropped pass, one missed tackle, one missed kick. Campbell has a way of getting things righted, and most likely will. The really frustrating part is that this team has pissed away the last two games to teams that are not that great, even though they are rated. Now it just gets harder to get those 3-4 wins to get to a bowl game.

OU, TT and WVU @ JTS are all winnable games. I fear for the Cyclones in the remaining road games @ Texas, @ Oklahoma State and @ TCU.
I want to agree but WVU is a nightmare matchup. They have elite WR's compared to K-States who got behind our secondary and Stills and Crew up front defensively... Yikes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had the sickening feeling that we are the hangover from the Insight bowl team all over again. Where we win 9 games, then a bowl game, and while it was three years later we fell to 2-10 and not two years... we seem frighteningly similar to the trajectory we had after our last 9 win season which is scary and depressing

I hope so. Send one extra guy after dekkers an he's ******. Can't make a read, can't since pressure, sure as hell can't by time getting out of the pocket. If this keeps up our defense will fold.

FWIW- Indiana fired its Oline coach today. Not unprecedented to make a change mid-season! Will it happen here? No Way - CMC cannot admit he made a mistake. He’ll put blame on himself but never actually admit he made a mistake! 3-9 is probable - hope not but all indicators point that way!

Campbell gets a pass on the year in some aspects but has to show he’s got his hand on this and Manning and the offense isn’t acceptable. It reminds me of the bubble screen offense that never succeeded here.

I think they need to start doing more misdirection stuff, maybe roll him out or bootleg with a pass option. Clearly teams have found a way to get him off his groove. Still think the kid is pretty talented. One thing that would help him is to target TEs over the middle when teams send an extra couple guys. Better OL play would be nice, but I don't see that happening this year.

I think 2-4 in the last 6 is a fair estimate. 1-5 or 3-3 also somewhat likely. 0-6 to finish is probably as unlikely as 5-1 or 6-0 would be.

Does anybody really want an AD that meddles in the any of the programs? It's one thing to say we need to get more wins, but telling the head coach how to do that is not the way to keep a good coach around. Pollard can say "we need to win these close games" and then trust Campbell's choices on how to make that happen. Pollard should not tell Campbell which specific coach(es) to retain or fire. Pollard isn't a football coach.

If your boss micro managed you, how motivated would you be to make the company better?

I think the panic button sets in if we get handled by Texas and beat at home against OU. making us 0-5 in league play 3-5 overall and winless in October.
