It was better, it doesn't excuse the pathetic effort up to now, and let's not forget, they still didn't score enough to win the game. Better yes, which is a start.

Right, but less of the problems were scheme. We were back to the bad offense with turnovers. It wasn't Mannings fault Dekkers threw a dumb interception. And it wasn't Mannings fault Dekkers fumbled/the refs were incompetent.

Only real complaint I have is the usage of Silas, but we don't really know the condition of Brock or Norton right now. Really need one of them to be ready for 2 weeks
That was really weird. It's clear Brock and Norton aren't 100%, but they kept getting snaps/carries all game.

The running game has been terrible since Brock got banged up. Hopefully after the bye week both those guys are good to go full time again.

In my opinion, this is hard to put this one on the coaches. Sure there were a few questionable play calls but that happens everywhere. I questioned taking a delay of game backing up our punter but it didn’t end up hurting them. A pick in the end zone, Johnson dropping an easy pick that ended up in Texas td, and X’s drop. There were plenty of opportunities but just didn’t make plays.

Drive 1: 3 plays, 3 yards - punt
Drive 2: 3 plays, 4 yards - punt
Drive 3: 11 plays, 84 yards - TD
Drive 4: 9 plays, 53 yards - Interception
Drive 5: 6 plays, 17 yards - punt
Drive 6: 1 play, 3 yards - end of half

Don't know if props are deserved for this half.

Dekkers is young and having him run the ball keeps his jitters down I think. Helps the run game as well. Having him run has to be part of the game plan for us to win a couple more games.
Dekkers has the talent to lead and the offense has to keep the urgency going.

Better play calling.. Deckers played better for sure. How will we be next year though when Hutchison is gone? He's amazing! I don't know if he's the only one open or he just zones in on him a little too often. He had to be gassed at the end. Just need to spread it out a little more. Noel was good.

He spread it out quite a bit today, Hannika had a couple catches, Stanley, Noel, and of course X. Also went to Shaw once incomplete

He called a good game. Not perfect, but a B+ is good enough in my books. Dekkers looked more confident. We'll get some Big 12 wins if we play like we did today.
I am just astounded by the crispness of Dekkers' passing and our receivers ability to snag the balls out of the air. The 10-20 yard plays were what we have been waiting for and expecting. NOW, if we had ANY type of running game.

Texas won the game when their tandem backs swapped out with multiple 15 yd runs and marched down the field in the 4th quarter, topped by a 4th down TD pass.

I am still confused by our poor coverage of the TD pass. In a very tight space we had two defensive guys to their one receiver and it was not even close.

Tennessee has four and five star recruits everywhere on their roster. We have a couple of four star guys and that’s it. You can’t compare the two.
Four and five star recruits putting up 52 against Alabama.

Manning put up 9 and 11 against Kansas and Kansas State. If you need a ton of 4 and 5 star recruits to put up more than that, you’re not doing a good job.

That being said, for the first time since Ohio, seemed like Manning actually knew what he was doing out there.

This is my issue. We knew Dekkers could do this against SEMU and Ohio. Didn’t see it much against an elite Iowa team. But why, oh why, did we have such a conservative passing game the first 3 weeks, especially against inferior defenses in Kansas State and Kansas?
