IUPUI is awful but there was a lot of positives. Lipsey plays really smart, 4 solid frontcourt players, made free throws, have some nice length. It'll be interesting how Tre King fits in, if he's good enough to get in the rotation, this should be a solid team.
I can tell you from speaking to someone close to program that Tre King is going to play alot. He's going to be our best offensive front court player.

Their starting 5 hung with us for about 7 minutes. They have maybe 2 legit D1 players
Dude. TCU should have lost to ARk Pine Bluff tonight.

Iowa was behind D2 Townson State (who entire roster is Iowa high school kids) in an exhibition late in first half.

So glad all these smart people on here can tell us dummies that IUPUI is the worst team in D1 so nothing we saw tonight will remotely translate this season. “Glad the team shot free throws well tonight”….”don’t you know IUPUI is horrible, we won’t make free throws against good teams”

Jumped in on the last page evidently the game thread is filled with people complaining. I saw a team that plays good defense and shot better than last yrs. I'm good with it, see how the season plays out.

Dude, WTF! You know sunshine isn't allowed in the dark, hollow abyss of game threads. You take that sunshine and shove it up your cheer-filled ass.

TCU shot 28 more free throws than their opponent. - for a 1 point win.

At least we came out focused! Beat a bad team badly.

Like what I see from Lipsey. I'm not saying he's better than Hunter overall, but I do think he'll be an upgrade in facilitating the offense.
It’s a small sample size, but Lipsey seems to have a better knack for protecting the ball. Hunter is explosive and could score the basketball at times, but his perplexing and numerous live ball turnovers often put the team at a disadvantage. I think we have enough talent to at least be serviceable offensively. Coupled with elite defense Lipsey’s ball protection, facilitation and high A/T ratio could be just what the Cyclones need to be competitive this season.

Lipsey had a good game at PG. I only heard it on the radio so far.) And with Holmes (folks say he can be a seviceable spot PG), and Eli King (anxious to see more of him at PG), I think we are more than manageable at PG.

Two of the above are freshman, so it would be nice to keep them both at about 15-25 minutes per game or less. A lot of how this ultimately works out for us, by season's end, will be if those 3, especially the freshmen, can stay healthy. Both Lipsy and King have had knee issues (and I think both have had knee surgery).

My take on the game last night. I guess the team was ok but my experience was bad. I was sitting in the student section which now must be at least 100 yards from the court. The lighting was so dim, I could barely see my phone to stream ESPN+, which if you don't know really sucks. So then I think well I am here at Hilton might as well watch live action, well to my dismay a cute young cheerleaders fine, firm, taut a** completely blocked my view, unbelievable. I wonder where is this Eli King I have heard so much about, I look over and he is on the end of the bench, kicked back, shoes off, eating a Clone Cone. About that time Caleb Grill launches a 3 point attempt that misses by like 40 feet, striking me in the head. Hilton Magic My A**. I'm headed to Carver Hawkeye arena for a real college basketball experience!!! ;-)

Holmes is listed at 210 and Lipsey is at 200. I thought both of them looked every bit that big and strong. Holmes may not have the best handle, but he knows how to use his body to ward off the defender. Their passes were on the money. They combined for 7 assists and 4 turnovers. Could have had more assists if Grill shot better. Hopefully they can keep it up against better competition.

They won three games last season and only returned three players.
ISU returned 4. Kind of hard to say how good they are this year based on last year if they only returned 3 players. Will be interesting to see how their season goes.

This team is going to grind out a lot of wins. I don’t think we will be an offensive juggernaut but I think this team will score more points than last years team. Last year between Big Rob and George we didn’t threaten the defense much from the post. If we can get 20-30 points a game from the bigs this year I think we can score in the 60’s consistently in the big 12. Super excited to see Tre King get thrown into the mix. Defense and hustle are going to win us a lot of 50/50 games like last season. Go Clones!
