Not game, but B1 lot traffic control for leaving to the north following the game is a cluster. One person directing and one standing around, both ignoring most lanes of traffic in the lot. This is a new lot. Should have a traffic flow plan in place.

My favorite thing about this team so far is that you don't see a drop off in intensity or general play regardless of lineup. We were pretty cold today, but that effort kept the game way out of reach throughout.
Agreed. The depth in the front court should also help against teams like Iowa who like to draw cheap fouls.

IMO this team is better now than ISU was last year at this time. I know they really haven't played anyone...but I think they are a bit ahead of last year.

How that translates going forward I don't know.

Lipsey isn't Hunter.........but he doesn't have to be. The frontcourt is so much better.....nothing against George or Big Energy, but just the numbers make it better.

And outside of an injury I can't see how this team does any worse in conference play.

From Today:

- Intensity Intensity Intensity. We heard all off-season how hard this squad goes in practice and these first couple games have shown that to be true.

- Finishing at the rim will be something that may hinder the Cyclones this season. WIth the defensive nature of this team they will NEED to convert at the rim to find consistent success this year. The whole team has the ability to get to the rack or find themselves in situations close to the basket - especially Osun - and they will need to finish.

- Grill/Gabe. I understand it really doesn't matter who starts - the minuets played matter - but Grill has really struggled out of the gate and maybe needs to come off the bench to fix his issues. Gabe has shown more consistency and we know his defensive ability so we will see how it all plays out moving forward.

Overall pretty solid first couple games for the team. Didn't take much and both games were won by halftime so no stress. Now a full week for some solid practices before one more tune up, then off to Portland to really get it going.

80-43 final.

Nothing fancy and a little ugly at times but some good things to build on. The upgrades in athleticism, especially inside, will be big in conference play.
There is definitely some upgrades inside on this year's team. Not great scorers, but guys that defend and get rebounds. Unfortunately I think the shortage of scoring guards is going to hurt this team as the season goes on.

It might. Last year if Brock and Hunter were off ISU would be lucky to score 40 points.

I don't think the premium on the guards will hurt as much this season with the frontcourt set up. And with King coming on board I doubt we see any of those "hope we score 10 by halftime" games again.

Like last year........I'm thinking again of 20 wins and an NCAA berth. Outside of injuries.

The pieces are there and Lipsey is only going to get better.
