Who makes the CFP in the nightmare scenario?

If LSU wins the SEC CG, then they are in. I realize they are a 2 loss team, but I think the committee has to prioritize LSU over Georgia. Otherwise, why play Conference Championship Games.

I would go with:
Mich or OSU winner (Undefeated Big10 Champ)
LSU (SEC Champ)
TCU (Undefeated Big12 Champ)
USC (1 Loss Pac12 Champ)

But the next couple weeks could be the most exciting of any year during the CFB Playoff era. I expect to see a number of upsets- mainly Clemson, USC and TCU.

Would not surprise me if the playoff is:
Michigan
Ohio State
Georgia
Tennessee (IMO they sneak in if USC, TCU and Clemson all lose

I’ll add this thought to the thread: What about the other kind of chaos where just about everybody loses?

Say USC loses the Pac-12 championship game against Oregon/Washington/Utah, TCU loses the Big 12 championship game against Kansas State/Texas, Clemson loses the ACC championship game against North Carolina, and LSU picks up a third loss against Georgia. None of those results would be all that shocking.

My prediction for the final four in that case? Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, and…

Alabama.

One-loss TCU would get screwed.

Clemson is one loss I think and could slide in if they win their championship. It’s going to be hard to hold out champions with one loss versus ones who didn’t even play in the championship.

To think about how bad the CCGs can be. If ISU was in the west, it looks like we’d be in it and if Iowa was in the big 12 they would be 11 of 11. Worst team in the B12 beat the big ten west champ who also nearly lost to an FCS team. If the championship is close, it just shows the conference is poor in general.

I think the SEC should get its top two teams in this year. The winner of Ohio St/Mich should get in but their conference doesn’t deserve half the teams, it was a pillow fight after the top 3.

That fourth spot…if TCU is unbeaten it’s nice an neat and easy. If not, I have no idea who should get that fourth spot.

You would think they have to prioritize the conference champ over the non-champ from the same league but I present to you the year Penn State won the Big Ten and Ohio State got in over them. Reminder that was even worse because the Buckeyes didn’t even win their division. Penn State did. Still one of the bigger jokes with this thing.

I have hated this system since it began and support only Conference Champions qualifying. It is maddening how they seem to constantly change the rules to make sure Bama and or THE Ohio Stats are part of it even when they don't even play in their conference championship.

LSU, Tenn, and Bama are probably all in NY6 games, makes you wonder if the Bama fans will even show up as much as normal. Watch them get paired with Clemson once again.

Penn state had two regular season losses that year and it’s why they didn’t get in.

We would be the 3rd or 4th best team in the B10, I have not been impressed with Penn St at all this year.
