A good warmup for Thursday, SJ plays similarly to Iowa.
A 10 point lead was very tenuous with the old Cyclone teams because of our mediocre defense. With TJ's team, a 10 point lead is more like a 16-18 point lead.
If anything ISU has had some good experience working through foul trouble good and early this season.
Fairly called or not, foul trouble will happen at some point.
I’m not saying it’s not a good win. It is. I’m more saying I was unimpressed with their team. Mike Anderson isn’t a great coach and they play like his teams always play. They have some athletes but they aren’t a team. They will feast on teams that hand them the ball over and over again and lose to teams that can actually play a half court game.
Great job of ISU of closing the door when SJ started clawing back in. SJ got it down to 9 and a lot of past ISU teams would have let that dwindle down to a 1-2 possession game. These guys scored 6 straight after that and put it away
Gonna need to watch the touchy fouls. Iowa will try to force the issue and make ISU reach/swat.
Also ISU needs to be careful as they pass the ball around the perimeter. The only reason Iowa kept it to twenty last year was due to sloppy play on the skip/side to side stuff.
Love that we get 4 days of rest before the Iowa game. And Iowa still has to play Duke Tuesday. I want our suffocating defense to overwhelm them.

Nice win..Great coaching and I like our roster. Green's work with our bigs is evident. Robert Jones' game has come a long way. Lipsey is solid! Plays within himself and seldom makes a mistake. Grill's gonna be our leading scorer by years end if he keeps up this shooting. What I've seen Texas and ISU are the best conference teams I've watched..gonna be fun!
KU will get things figured out but it may not be for a while. That's their thing.
As TJ likes to put it, we must dictate the pace of the game and IMPOSE OUR WILL.
They will, though I don't think KU has a big that can match up with Robert Jones. Yeah, I just said that.

Kind of a weird thing to schedule but at least they have their built in excuse if ISU wins.
He and Jaz are my two favorite players. Bought my son a "Big Rob Energy" shirt. Kid loves it.
