Imagine watching the team that recruited you hard demolishing your current team without their best player. Also knowing the opposing coach had great plans for you to be an important contributor and being the consummate team supporter from the bench. Then in a totally lopsided game seeing not one second of play. Hard pill to swallow! Respect !
Imagine playing for a coach that encourages an extreme form of nepotism, who's teams consistently fade, underperform in the NCAAs and acts like a complete jerk.

He got his 500th win though in only 40 years of coaching.

He's athletic as hell but watch Eli shoot 3's in warmups and you'll see why he's not playing (yet).

Looks like he got it right for number 500! A landslide win without best player. Keeping perspective is important. Realizing in ncaa tourney last year Wisconsin would have lost to anyone that day. They actually shot worse than the cyclones last game.
guard play against iowa was poor overall. #3 played his normal game; but he's not an outside shooter. Gives you a steady 6-10 a game. The other guys lack confidence. It got to a point they were just relieved to hit the rim. Gabe will give you that one or two games a year where he's on fire, but mostly a defender. Holmes & Grill roll players being forced into being the man; hopefully they can figure it out; or it will be a long season.

Maybe he's redshirting? Lipsey was a must play, and Watson too valuble to sit. With the talent we have coming, and trying to build a team, I see TJ letting the cards fall where they may this year......

What are the redshirt rules for D1 Basketball? I've seen sites that say you can play up to 4 games. Other sites say if you play in 1 game you cannot redshirt.

You expected to routinely lose by 20 and not be competitive at all this season?
Iowa game did give me legitimate pause to what Texas, Baylor, TTU, KU will look like. IIRC we were somewhat competitive in those contests early in season, but once tale was out. They knew how to shut us down.

ISU doesn't have element of surprise benefitting them this year. Not cashing the season in, but will be interested to see what we look like in games that IZB had to take over last year.

Thought there was more balance, but if Osun can't get to the 11-15 ppg consistently that may not be the case.

The Iowa game is an aberration in my opinion. Not saying there won't be another dud or two this season, but no way is what happened 2 nights ago going to become the norm this year

We do not have a consistent legitimate scoring threat as a guard.

We required a 31 point performance from a guy who has shot 12% from 3 in Hilton since last January to beat a decent but not elite UNC team.

I would say what happened at Iowa is closer to the norm than beating UNC.

I simply mean book is out on how to disrupt our "offense". Apply pressure, push us to start offe se from 30-35 ft. Resort to late shot clock deep shots.

I'm not making sure conclusions but feel conference play will be more difficult this year than last.

Think this may not have been the case until Williams went down.

williams averaged 9 points a game last two years at Temple. Similar to what Lipsey is doing. Conference is loaded this year. Will be a battle.
