I agree. Just implying I don't think we'll go 4 deep

Oh, I don't think that we'll go 4 deep to start. But we went from 4 to 2 pretty quickly last season. I hope this kid only gets spot carries next year. That would mean that Brock is 100% and Norton is back to being the hammer that we know he can be. But at this point, I don't know that we can depend on those two to make it through a season healthy. And Sanders has shown that he's not ready at this point. Hansen will need a RS and Samu may be a CB, we don't know. You have to have 4 solid RBs ready to play to start the season and Harris gives us that.

Sama is focusing on coming in as a RB. His speed and quick burst is something we don’t have in the RB room. Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sanders transfers

It wouldn't surprise me either. No transfer surprises me any more. Plus there are 2 rounds- Dec/Jan & May.

With Sanders speed, curious if staff doesn't explore position switch for spring ball if he doesn't project as top 3 back.

Hoping new S&C staff might have big impact on our speed/quickness.

I feel like Sanders could be a good WR

My two pennies are I think by end of non conf it will be Norton and Arlen Harris getting the majority of carries. I just have a hunch Harris will prove to be better at making people miss than Jirehl Brock. Hurt or not hurt, Brock struggled at getting past the first tackle last year.

We need competition in the RB room, it will make everyone better. No one separated themselves from the group this past year in my opinion. I don't know why any of the current running backs would transfer. Seems like it is the perfect situation where there is plenty of opportunities to get playing time by proving it on the field.

I’ll disagree on Brock. I was skeptical coming in to the season, but he played well until he got hurt. If he had a decent OL and stayed healthy, he was an all conference HM at least. I doubt that a guy who got like 2 carries on a bad Stanford team is going to jump him after 3 games.

He was offerred by LSU, Michigan, and PSU out of high school. We'll see.

Either way like others have said it should ramp up the competition greatly.

I agree with that Sanders could be a good receiver. Really good speed, but just couldn't get through the initial tackles you'd have to break with our blocking this year.

Regarding Brock, I think he was hurt all year after those first three games. He is plenty good enough when healthy to contend for the #1 spot next year.

A healthy Brock and we would be preparing for a bowl game right now IMO. He punished a pretty good iowa defense. I'm guessing he very well could have made a difference against some if not all of KU, KSU, TT, UT. And that's why it was so important to get Harris. You can't have such a big dropoff to your backup RBs because the starter is bound to get dinged up at some point.

From his 247 scouting profile: “Very smart, patient runner who finds lanes and hits them without hesitation. Good inside runner for a guy who is not necessarily a big back. Naturally stocky and should fill out into a nice sized college player. Has good balance and will run through contact. Has some nimbleness and shiftiness. Has to continue to add explosiveness and top-end speed.”
He sounds a lot like Norton, based on this assessment of his skills.

We are going to need to hang on to Sanders IMO, because he will be the lightning to counteract the thunder that Norton, Harris, and Brock bring.
