The adults are also making it worse for the kid that committed the crime by not holding him accountable here. Not that he is the victim here, what he did was horrible and he should be punished harshly.

If he wasn't wrestling right now, his name would not be all over FB posts, news stories, tweets, and message boards. The story has blown up in the past couple of days, and rightfully so. I guess that is the consolation prize for not doing the right thing in the first place. Just a master class in what not to do by the adults around him.

There is no longer a deadline for open enrolling, so they can do it any time. Cannot participate in varsity level sports for 90 school days, or half a year, but this may fall under the "good cause" criteria due to threat of bullying/assault, which would make everyone eligible.
Bingo this is a slam dunk case for any kid to open and enroll out and be immediately eligible

Then you may be taking away opportunities from the young man/woman at the transfer school. What do you tell them if they get replaced?? Sorry Johnny, because the parents and school board members at RS highschool could not do the right thing, you are getting replaced by Jimmy who transfered in from RS highschool.

The parents of the highschool students, all the parents, need to stand up to the school board. Strength is in numbers.

Fights anyone and everyone the minute he has alcohol. Got busted for a number of alcohol related and fighting charges at Iowa state. Transferred to Penn state, kept up the same stuff. On top of a sexual assault charge against an older lady. Became washed up, came back to central iowa, and still acts the same.
He's still a moron. Just got in trouble in Des Moines for assaulting a female bartender.

Cause and effect. Be’cause of the actions or inactions of the fail leadership, now there are a lot of young people effected by this.

Yep. That is something I learned in the Army. Every action has an effect. The sad thing is that the effect of the action this young man did is tearing the town apart.

The kids should not have to decide here. The kids should never decide something like this. Several years ago, I was talking to someone from my old town, didn't know them then, and we asked about this one kid who had quit and rejoined a couple times and been in trouble a couple times. The coach had the kids vote if he could come back, a coward move. This team had been placing at duals and around top 5 at traditional and this was a high point scorer. When you have the kids vote, there is only one kid who will vote no and that is the kid whose spot he is taking. So what did it say to that kid, hey sorry that you did the right things but winning is more important. I no longer care for my alma maters wrestling team due to that move.

The adults need to be adults and say this doesn't happen on our team. Coach needs to set him down and say, you can be out because that is your right as a student here, but that doesn't mean I need to start you and you will be wrestling JV the rest of this season here.
This. It’s becoming clearer the school can’t/won’t do anything about this. If the coach had any balls he wouldn’t wrestle him.

Anyone old enough to know the lyrics "if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice"?

There's laws and rules, but there's also being guided by your ability to sleep at night. To live your life in a way where you can look at your kids and honestly say that you are doing your best to be an example for them.

I see one person associated directly with the school that walked away. Good for her.

I think there needs to be more affirmation for these cheerleaders that are trying to stand up for something at an age where it's tough to do that. Instead they are threatened with punishment?

The whole situation is backward. They are punishing people who support accountability and supporting people who should be held accountable and punished. They need to start un****ing this fast before any shred of credibility as a school district is gone.

The last part of what you wrote is 100% what should be taking place...but is it? Will it? Who knows hopefully it does.
I'm not going to go into the Johnny Jimmy situation because there are two possible situations to it and idk which one you are trying to talk about.

I see references to others being involved. Does anybody know if they graduated or why there’s nothing mentioned about them?

This is just such a messed up situation. I wish my son's school would have been aware of any of this (or let the parents know if they were aware) before they joined together with Roland/Story for wrestling this year.

He needs kicked off the ******* team for felony assault.
**** him, his parent's and the administration of Roland Story.
We let to many *star* athletes get away with ********.
I've seen it all over southwest Iowa with these coaches and Ad's.
It's time for parent's and kids to be ******* responsible.
Dumb me all you want. Wait till something happens to your kid.
Andrew Long and 4 time state champ Jake Marlin were absolutely pieces of **** from Creston.
You are a dipsh_t. Did Marlin kick your butt or what?

The cheerleaders have are the most courageous out of any one in this situation. Agree, they deserve a ton of praise.

Friend at KCCI said their newsroom was flooded with calls and emails accusing KCCI of trying to ruin Kade's life by running stories on this.

KCCI also reported on the murder of those ten kids that murdered a kid and shot two others at East High School. So wonder if those same people are calling and saying they ruined those murderers lives also. In other words, if your kid is a punk, the TV station is not ruining the kids life. The kid sexually assaulted someone. Yes, I said sexually. He deserved every headline he got.
