They couldn’t win with Lance. They were just getting by with Jimmy G. Their ceiling is much higher with Purdy, if you can’t tell that already, I don’t know what to tell you.

It's 3 games. If it was college football we'd all be expecting him to start to get figured out in the next couple of games.

He hasn't played enough games, mvps almost always play the whole season.

And if the 49ers can win with any qb playing for them he isn't valuable at all, might as well be anybody in that spot. The exact opposite of mvp.

He plays at the same level all of next year. Then he's got a good chance
He doesn't deserve to be in the MVP discussion with only a partial season, but the 49ers are 4-0 (counting the Miami win) with Purdy @ QB and 7-4 in their other games. So, Purdy has done a much better job in the W-L column than the other QBs so far. They appear to be BETTER with him, and he appears to be a perfect fit for that offense.

Kittle putting up monster numbers once Purdy comes in is so interesting to me. Purdy seems to love throwing to tight ends. I suppose it helps that Kittle is one of the best TEs in the league too
And Deebo being out. He still went to Kittle a lot when Deebo was playing but that’s part of it.

Why? He’s on a Super Bowl contender, if they lose Jimmy G and go to a typical backup QB, their season is finished. Purdy hasn’t only kept them afloat, he’s significantly raised their ceiling, even minus Deebo today. They’re probably the Super Bowl favorites as of today.

Purdy might have high passer ratings, but he's still only throwing 20ish times a game and hasn't broken 300 yards of passing or 2 TDs once yet. He's had an excellent start to his career but he's not in the same conversation as Mahomes or Allen yet - and pretending he is does a disservice to Purdy at this point.

Why do people take anything CyJack says seriously?

Totally agree but there is never going to be an MVP that doesn't even play a half season. I think you probably realize that.

I've seen Kurt Warner named in one of these threads as a comparison and rationale to why Purdy should be MVP, ignoring that Warner started playing in September.

I don’t profess to be an expert but the route on the long Kittle td was weird. San Fran had two receivers on top of each other.

He loved throwing to our TE's too. Kolar was one of the best so I guess he's learned to use his best players.

I'm super curious to see if Kolar ever emerges in the NFL and hope it happens. From what I've seen/read this year was a bit of a wash.
