He doesn't deserve to be in the MVP discussion with only a partial season, but the 49ers are 4-0 (counting the Miami win) with Purdy @ QB and 7-4 in their other games. So, Purdy has done a much better job in the W-L column than the other QBs so far. They appear to be BETTER with him, and he appears to be a perfect fit for that offense.
Agree that Purdy has added to the offense and this is a super fun ride, but we also can't discount the addition of McCaffrey. The only L since adding CMC was the Chiefs game where he was fresh off the plane from Carolina. The weapons are everywhere.

This guy called it 9 months ago after the combine and before the draft.

This is a great post. Dude did some first rate analysis. Brock was definitely better than his projected 6th round pick. And I have no doubt that he, but for having played behind a dysfunctional offensive line for 4 years, would have been in the mix for the Heisman and an early round pick.

I noticed he compared Brock favorably with the humble, yet crafty Gardner Minshew. I like that comparison. What I also like:
  • Gardner Minshew was transformed into an NFL prospect by Mike Leach during a highly productive season at Washington State.
  • He was picked up by Philadelphia this season, and is now starting due to Jalen Hurts' injury.
  • Philly and SF could be on a collision course to meet for an NFC championship, and I hope they do.
  • This would invite references to the 2018 Alamo Bowl, a great showdown of CMC/Purdy vs Leach/Minshew.
Even though ISU came up short, I really enjoyed that bowl game. The Mike Leach interviews, his Iowa connection, and return to Texas made a great build up. I also had the pleasure of sitting next to a Wazzu fan at a local sports bar, who was just giddy bout their pulling off the upset. We shared some great banter, and, in a great college sports fandom moment, I left him with a hearty congratulations. And in retrospect, with the tragic passing of Mike Leach, what a treasured memory that bowl experience was for us all!

Minshew was traded for before last season. This is his second year in Philly and started one game last year where he threw for 300+. The guy is in the 20-30 range IMO for QBs in the NFL. He should be starting for someone.

Was saying the same thing during the game. Minshew is a solid bridge QB type being underutilized sitting in PHI's bench.

When asked what Purdy’s gift to the offensive linemen was, 49ers center Jake Brendel succinctly, happily and thankfully replied, “Wins.”

Yeah is BP making 'buy my lineman nice things' money?

I don’t profess to be an expert but the route on the long Kittle td was weird. San Fran had two receivers on top of each other.
Kittle wasn't suppose to be there... his route was to create space for the other receiver by pulling the safety away from him. But the safety was so far off Kittle, that Kittle instead created space for himself and just happened to be the same area as the other receiver.
