I'm coming from the other side and bemoaning when a game is on ESPN/2, as the base ESPN + doesn't give you access to those channels.

Not the same thing as being combined as an individual product but I do like the fact that if you are a subscriber to a service that has the ESPN family of channels (like YTTV) that you can login using your YTTV credentials and all of the ESPN channels can be accessed thru their app along with the ESPN+ stuff. Still not ideal as you are paying for another service such as YTTV and not a huge deal but it can cut back a bit on going from one app to another.

This may be a potential life hack if it is still possible. At one point, I could use the same login for ESPN+ that I used for my kids Disney+ account. Maybe I paid for both at the same time and was unaware. Also, Hulu has a sports package that will has all the ESPN+ games as well

Hulu Live, ESPN+ and Disney+ are all owned by the same company (Disney). I’m sure you have it all bundled under the same account, don’t you? I mean…you don’t pay for all 3 separately, do you? If you do, that’s messed up.

It’s not a “life hack”. It’s a programming bundle provided by Disney.

That makes me feel better then. I am not paying for all 3 which is even more encouraging. I suppose a quick google search i could have found out Disney owned them. Good looking out

But also not difficult to understand when you have TWO top 15 teams in the Cyclones and KU, flex that game and get it on tv somehow. Punt some other JV sec game to espn +

They don't want JV games on their app. They want top games with rabid fan bases who will sign up for ESPN+. Come on people, this really shouldn't be so hard to understand.

We don't have to like it but we cash ESPN's checks so they get to decide where our games land.

ESPN + is great for scouting and preparing for my March Madness bracket!

The content is great for me and well worth what I pay for the Disney bundle. I get to watch all the ISU WBB, Volleyball, most wrestling.

They are adding more content on to ESPN+ all the time.
Agree that the concept is good and a lot of content you simply could not get before is available on +. I like it for that... Don't like having big time match ups on there since the production quality is sub par.

I loved the all 22 view for the NCG. unfortunately it was a blow out... but that is a great way to watch any football game. Would love to see them add these views to more games.

I have a friend who's son plays college hockey... all his games are on espn+. So, it's great for what it is... you get to watch content no one is providing anywhere else.

Ya... it's not ideal.

I would like to see some control maintained by the conference on which games are relegated to espn+. Clearly, espn is trying to get new subs. You can't just put ISU vs. western mich on espn+ and expect a bump in subscribers. I think the B12 needs to be careful though... imo, you are hurting your brand if no one can watch your top games. There are too many games on ESPN+ right now and more importantly, too many top games.

ISU has @kansas, vs. texas on espn+... and don't look now, but @ texas is on the longhorn network. Just unfortunate how they have packaged the basketball games. I hope they were smarter about this in the new deal - but I doubt it.

Now, who is going to build the platform that allows you to seamlessly scroll through your live content - like changing a channel instead of being forced to move from app to app?
You dont have to switch to the app with Hulu+Live. The ESPN+ content shows in the Hulu navigation, and plays right from Hulu seamlessly. Never have a problem. I suggest many of you that have problems with stream, have internet issues not app issues.

I’d rather our game was on ESPN so we could go out and watch it at a bar, but overall I love ESPN plus. Super cheap and ridiculous amounts of content. Great thing for a college sports fan. Or a degenerate sports gambler.
Plenty of Bars have ESPN+

I love ESPN +. I get that the average Joe's and Jane's are not going to be able to watch our game, but anybody who really cares about Iowa State, Big 12 basketball, or just good college basketball in general, probably has a subscription to ESPN+.

Streaming is not going away, and the longer you hold out, the more the Big 12 will be affected in the long run.

Standard Hulu has a bundle you can get with Disney+ and ESPN+.

Hulu+Live automatically comes with Disney+ and ESPN+ Free.

ESPN has 140 Million Subs including international.
ESPN2 76 Million
ESPN News 59 Million
ESPNU 51 Million

ESPN+ has 24.3 Million subs as of the end of Q4 '22. (up over 7M since Q4 '21) Growing FAST

Hulu has 47.2 Million subs as of end of Q4 '22.

Keep in mind a lot of people from other fan bases are coming to ESPN+ to watch their sport or team. As there is a lot of other content on ESPN+. So it is not just ISU content on there drawing only ISU fans like CYtv or local people like local Tv only available in the DM Both something we had less than a decade ago. Also it is not a package that costs hundreds that is only available to people that have a satellite as was also something was required just a few years ago.

People don’t understand that when you pay billions for sports rights that you get to decide where games show up on your network?

I don’t like it either but this “ESPN is the devil” conspiracy theory is dumb. They want people to sign up for ESPN+ so they are putting a game with the top two basketball fan bases on it. Not that difficult to understand.
Both can be true.
