I'm not going to insult anyone's intelligence by trying to suggest that I'm unbiased when I write this, but we really have the look of a dark horse Final Four team right now.

I salute you, sir. I hadn't gotten to that level yet, or didn't know I had.
I definitely don't disagree. We're a nightmare for any opponent, and these guys have an attitude that won't back down from anyone.

If we get last night’s Osun or the way he had played in a few other games we could/should be 4 seed or better which puts you in that discussion most of the time, especially if we get DM or KC.

Im still buzzing from last night. We were electric. Shout out to anyone that was in section 202 - we are an absolute unit. You know the game was nuts when your deodorant is worn off by halftime and you smell like socks by the second half 11 minute time out.

The consistent suffocating defense that shows up every game (except Iowa) and builds as the game goes on is unlike even last year. It just feels like, even at Phog Allen, there's a stretch coming where the intensity ramps up and the other team goes scoreless for 5+ minutes and we're either right back in the game, or are suddenly ahead by 9.

I still think it all comes down to hitting outside shots though. the @TCU game is the only win this year where we've made < 6 threes. We will probably lose a game or two down where the shots just won't fall

I think having more offensive capability from the post opened up our outside shooting. Plus, Holmes seems better at finishing around the basket than IZB. I now understand a bit more when CW said that we would be improved offensively.

We'll lose a couple more. I don't see it in those next 6.
Games like @KSU, @TX I assume we lose, and that's fine. We also might not, and I wouldn't be surprised if we take those.

I don't see us losing at Hilton, for sure.

Wasn't there tonight but have been to all since Trickey days. Nothing compares to the OSU game.

2004 Virginia game
2013 Iowa game
Game day against KU
Comeback against OU
2015 Iowa game
Beating #1 OU in 2017
Beat down of KU in 2019

You are correct about OSU. But all those above in my memory stand out as real close.

Not even including any of LE's 99-00. They were classic like when Fizer face planted Mihm.

Great win by the Clones last night. It looks to me like the Shorthorn's interim coach is in way over his head. They played fairly well for most of the game, but once they got behind by 5 the team looked like a Jr High team. Just passing the ball around and then casting up 3s in the hope that one or two go down and they would get back into the game.

They played well for the first 10 minutes. But they made no adjustments once we got the game paced the way we like. That's where a coach makes a difference. We have one, they don't.

Hard to know what to think about UT the rest of the way. They have talent and that gets you pretty far, but the margin for error is so small in the Big 12 this year that poor coaching can and probably will be a factor in some losses.

Lots of mentions of great loud atmospheres in here over the last two decades. But for us older folks who were there, the Oklahoma State game when they were #2 and we came back from 18 down at half to win OT was and is still the loudest I've ever seen Hilton. I was behind the basket when Alexander missed those late FTs and it was insane.

Oh yeah! I brought my whole family (2 younger bros., Mom, Dad) to that game. We were one row away from the top. We stood the whole game and had no voice afterward. My Mom was in 7th Heaven - she had so much fun. There was an old man behind me with a cane. He couldn't stand and kept poking me in the back to sit down. I felt bad (physically and emotionally) but if I sat, I couldn't see!

"Insane" doesn't begin to scratch the surface of that game!

Hopefully UT is a team that beats other teams to keep them below ISU but doesn't win enough to pass ISU. With their slow start I'm thinking Baylor can be that too...just hoping we are a good matchup with Baylor for once this year and we have a good shot of getting them on the road.

I'm willing to go there too.

The last team that had this swagger defensively was the Baylor championship team. Admittedly, that team was terrific offensively too.

The last ISU team that had this swagger defensively was Fizer's last year and they didn't have a shot blocker like Osun (it did seem like Tinsley could steal the ball from anybody at anytime though). That was a top 2 team that year.

I was at that OSU game (spur of moment stopped and scalped a ticket). Still, in my mind the Lafester Iowa game was the loudest, most electric atmosphere that I have a vivid memory of. Probably because I have the white hot dislike of Iowa with the intensity of 1000 suns.

If the Lafester game was that loud, shout out to the old people back then. If I recall correctly, that game was during a student break.

He was on Go Big Show, wasn’t he? We saw him at a Wolves game, just amazed at his balance. He doesn’t appear to be in peak physical condition and just keeps climbing those chairs!
This is a profession where you must maintain peak physical condition, I would think. Amazing he can still do this in his mid 60's now.

And the guy standing near the base...is he there to catch him or to take his picture when he falls?

I thought they looked very well prepared out of the gate but then it wasn't sustainable.

Egos may start to get in the way.

The game down there will be a mess.
