Now it seems like there’s enough room for four pac 12 schools to leave when USC and UCLA leave and come on over.
It could happen fast, PAC can't delay their media deal much longer. That deal is going to have more contingencies than a Trump pre-nup, media partners bidding have no idea what group of teams they will be bidding on.

Wonder if that means the big 12 got news from a couple pac 12 teams they are finally ready to jump ship

Not sure if there is anything brewing with Pac12 teams. But not having OU/UT are 2 less mouths to feed from the Big12 revenue pie and sets clarity in discussions that Yormark has with Pac12 schools and potential TV partners regarding game inventory.

Don’t have to deal with that awkward “how do you schedule 18 for a year.
I don' think scheduling is difficult. But do ESPN & Fox want to have all that inventory? ESPN can alway's throw a game on ESPN+, Fox is more limited in game time slots. Both could say we only need x games and Big12 you'll get a fixed $. So less money per school.

There will be Friday football in the Big 12 under an expanded league. I don't like it, but that's what's going to happen.

ESPN is losing the B1G, and hasn’t came to an agreement to renew the the PAC. They have room. I believe Fox is also airing less B1G than previous years after the B1G added CBS and NBC.

I like the idea of Friday night games, but feel it needs to be an every Friday deal to develop the brand/affinity by viewers. The ACC had that with Thursday night football back in the 90's.

I'd like it more if the league can dictate the Friday schedule. Maybe do 6 Friday night games a year with each team hosting one every other year to coincide with the year of the extra conference home game.

We should shoot for adding 6. Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah. If we have 2 divisions of 9 we can still play mostly the old schools. Byu, Tech, Houston can play the west schools.

10 conference games in football, 20 in basketball.

For me it comes down to: Does the Big12 want KSU v ISU on ESPNU on Saturday afternoon with 500K people watching or does the Big12 want games like KSU vs ISU on ESPN on Friday night for the potential of 1-2M people watching? I go with the later for developing the Big12's brand and creating value vs. the Big10/SEC. If the Big12 wants to close the revenue gap with the Big10/SEC it needs to be aggressive in getting games in high viewership time slots.

Sep 9- Louisville vs UCF - 1.85M viewers
Sep 16- Louisville vs FSU - 2.75M
Sep 23 - Syracuse vs UVA - 1.79M
Sep 30 - Houston vs Tulane- 1.22M

compare that to:

Sep 24 at noon - ISU v Baylor 762k on ESPN2
Oct 1 at 3p - ISU v KU 865k on ESPN2
Oct 8 at 7p - ISU v KSU 373k on ESPNU

The Big12 will still have games that fight for viewership against 3-5 other games on a Saturday afternoon/evening. But carving out a niche on Friday night or Saturday late night means viewership in the 1-2M range.

I we have good sportsmanship and show lots of respect to Texas when they come in November. I’m confident Ames will be very kind to them and they we feel even a bit of love as they head out for the last time.

I just want to keep the fans in mind too. It would be nice to have a set schedule where you get 4 Saturday home games each year and 1 Friday night home game every other year. Seems that Friday night road games aren't as big of a deal, so I don't know if it's as important to try to level those out as well. But if it can be done, then even better.
