You can also see teams just have more athletes than ISU. That’s why I like seeing guys like King and Watson out there more.

Guys just look beat up and mentally exhausted, and they're lost their confidence. The combination of injuries and ridiculously tough schedule has taken a toll. Need to really dig down deep, clear their heads, and find that second wind.
I AGREE NO confidence shooting the basketball at all...Realistically we could LOSE OUT!!

My only concern for now until we tip next year is making sure all our incoming recruits make it to campus.

ISUs half court offense has been pretty bad all year. The difference was Grill and Gabe having a lot of crazy shooting days like IZB did last year. That combined with points off TOs because guys still had enough energy to play a crazy demanding style of defense.

It definitely could be the change with Jaz back, but it seems like more than that. If getting a starter back screws you up, then that’s a coaching problem.

Just need to get to the tourney and start over.
Yeah, these "preseason" games don't mean anything, any way right? No need to risk getting hurt. We'll just flip a switch.

Alternately, when we do try to score, we tend to miss those layups at a rate i'm not sure has been seen in division 1 basketball.

It's a little better than last year because of Lipsey.

This squad just doesn’t have second half gas. Streaky three point shooters. Bigs can’t stay out of foul trouble and FT shooting has bit us in the ass.
In spite of all that, this team has still had a season which exceeded pre-season expectations. We have now earned the title of the “mid seed that nobody will want to play“ in the NCAA tourney.

The rest of the league plays the same tough schedule.

And for some reason we have two players.....Watson and Ward.....who had a part in early league success all of a sudden finding themselves riding pine now that Kunc is back.

If they were good enough when times were good.....they are good enough now. Especially if the other guys are "beat up and mentally exhausted".

As you say, the offense is basically a continuation of last year. Lots of peculiar high screening and action out on the perimeter and hoping somebody gets crazy hot from the outside. It falls apart in conference play because the defenses are too good.

Tre King has been playing pretty well the past few games. He got 8 minutes today and 2 shot attempts, only 1 PF. Was he sick/hurt? OU doesn't have an all-star post lineup.
