Did you ever hear he wasn’t a problem?

No, but the constant praise that TJ had for him and the fact that he brought him back here, would make you think he wasn’t a problem. It was lavish praise. Before last month, would any one have thought TJ had an issue with him? I’d bet that a majority of our fans would have said he was the favorite.

Now his teammates? I don’t know how that was. I feel like Holmes had nice words to say about him at least once. Holmes and him did a video thing that the team posted where they were having a great time—laughing so much I doubt they were faking. And Jaz spent time with the grill family last year.

So it seems pretty obvious that something big changed/happened after the injury. It’s too bad both sides couldn’t figure it out before it got to this point. I wish that there had been an off ramp.

Very classy by Mr. Grill.
Best of luck Caleb. Thanks for all your effort and time as a Cyclone. You will be missed. And thank you for the letter. That took courage and heart! I respect that.

We all make mistakes. That's what forgiveness, redemption, and growth is about. Get your mental health in order. At times, it is a struggle for many of us, including myself.

Forever True.

Whatever happened, sorry that it had to come to this. Whatever dumb thing he said, I am sure he regrets his actions at this point. It would have better at least to finish the season. Must have been multiples somethings. Best of luck to Caleb. If he really did burn his bridges with the coaches and teammates hopefully he will take responsibility for his actions and do what he can to make ammends. Sounds like from his tweets that is the case.

I think most of us saw a significant change in CG after his back injury and he was never the same player on the court afterwords. While there was probably a sense of relief among the team when he was dismissed, I can’t imagine how hard this situation and its build-up has been on everybody involved. Having to dismiss CG was probably one of the hardest things TJ has ever had to do as a leader. CG followed him to 3 different schools and a leader like TJ loves these players like family- I can’t imagine the hurt felt by our team and CG and his family.

I wish CG the best- he’ll always be a Cyclone in my book.

Forever True

We don't know all the details yet with Grill, but just thinking through the last ten or so years and all the locker room/team chemistry issues we've had. McKay, BDJ, Lard, Wiggington, Grill...and those are just top of my head. Seems like so much drama almost every year with players in this program all the way back to the Hoiberg years. Is there a common thread or problem here or do we just have really crappy luck?
I'm pretty sure you can go to any board and find the same type of drama. Kids want to win. Kids, not being fully mature adults, often find themselves all knowing and thus all pouting if their ideas aren't shared.

No it’s not. You are misusing that phrase.

I can’t imagine why anyone would prefer to lose and have imaginary moral high ground over winning championships. Personally I’d rather ISU win championships.
Sure. We'd all love to assume nothing immoral or unethical happens to win championships. But, in the end, if I were to take gratitude in a championship after having reached the decision it was done wrongly, I'd be embarrassed and, quite frankly, undeserving. I'm so tired of the arguments to support cheating or unethical methods to achieve the single goal of winning. There's no doubt I'm from a more respectable generation.

Yeah, I'm going to March Madness and will watch other games but the book is closed on this season as far as my interest goes in ISU basketball.
Yet, you're still here. How do you feel about hypocrisy? That said, I do on occasion find my jaw drop open with some of your posts because they're actually decent and respectful. But, then off the cliff you go again. I suppose the serious question is: are you being treated for multiple personalities?

Good old ISU and its fans.

Worried about the wrong things, instead of the only thing.

Winning.
You understand that guys doing the types of things alluded to that Grill did cause losing, right?
