TJ has found that the 3-headed monster in the post, rotating Rob, Osun, and Hassan, works. I like it. Each bring a different skill set. Each contribute positively.

I've said in other treads, I wish Osun had been a Cyclone for at least 2 years.

Haven’t read the thread, but I don’t think we played well at all, and I also don’t think I can be convinced it was because of Kansas. We did some decent things defensively, but broke down at key moments, and our offense was not good (terrible for the most part) overall. Hands abandoned the team, and some of those entry passes were abysmal. Couldn’t hold onto or track the ball when it counted either. They are much better than what they showed tonight.

This group has overachieved on the season, no question. At the same time, depending on the draw, I feel like a Sweet 16 (at least) should be expected.

Just finished watching. What a weird game offensively. Gabe couldn’t get open, Kunc didn’t even get a shot off, Osun seemed off the entire night, etc. A lot of weird, home run, entry passes that ended up in turnovers.

The only problem with it is Shun struggles offensively when given less minutes. When he's on his game he's one of the toughest matchups we have for opponents. When he was playing well, particularly against Kansas in Lawrence, they didn't have an answer. And an effective Shoon helps open up the offense.

With that said it got to the point where his effort and stamina was a problem even on the offensive end. Teams realized he wasnt a consistently hard worker establishing position and could be easily pushed off the block. The last several games he's mostly been an offensive non-factor. Botching several bunnies and not excelling defensively or on the boards isn't going to help him with playing time either.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion and their own level of expectations, but honestly your last paragraph seems a bit self-contradictory. We've overachieved this season, but we should be disappointed if we're not a Sweet 16 team?

We could lose to a 12 or 11 seed in the first round. We could repeat last season and make it to the 2nd weekend. For me personally everything from here on out is gravy. I certainly want us to do well, but I'm content with how this season has gone. The late season collapse was tough to witness, but we made a nice recovery this last week that sets us up nicely for a good seed come Sunday.

I disagree. I think Kansas played really good defense. Harris (Big 12 DPOY) shut down Gabe. That really limits our offense. And I thought the rest of the team played good defense as well. Especially in the paint and rebounding.

I will give KU's defense credit. The were able to create a long scoreless stretch for the Clones in each half.

A couple stats that stood out to me: 8 assists & 22 TO's. Our bigs missed some easy shots. But over the last month when passes don't lead to baskets, our offense struggles.

It was meant to be somewhat contradictory. Nobody expect it, but we are a Sweet 16 caliber team. We won’t be though if we played the way we did tonight.

I think my feeling on the tournament before seeing our actual matchups is "get one win and its gravy from there"

I dispute the "wasn't a consistently hard worker." From my observation of TJ's expectations, Osun wouldn't be playing if he didn't work hard. He doesn't seem to have the lower body strength that Jones and King have and he doesn't have strong hands. That doesn't mean he isn't working hard.

Shoon is a bum.

Shoon - I hope you’re reading this. You clearly need motivation. You’ve been dog sh*t and you let Bob f*cking Jones pass you on the depth chart. That should be the greatest source of frustration in your life that you’ve come across.

A lot of those turnovers seemed like our guards forcing entry passes that weren’t there. Like they came in with that game plan but never backed off when it wasn’t working. KU got a couple huge dunks off those turnovers and we lost any momentum we had.

And we will be seeded right around that level. The first game will have us as a favorite. The second game will be a toss up as all 4/5 or 6/3 games are.
