No thanks.94F w/ 80F dewpoint here. Feels like 113F. Many other places south and west of here have heat index values in the 120's.

Chris Gloninger is leaving KCCI, leaving TV altogether it sounds like.
I thought I just saw him on this past week maybe but I could be wrong. I watch 13 most of the time unless there is some programming that pre-empts their news so I don't watch a lot of 8. Agree about Ann though. Chris was always an odd fit in this market. He was not from the Midwest so he struggled to connect with the local culture here IMO and pushing his climate change agenda all the time probably did not win him a lot of fans either. I remember when he first started he really struggled with severe weather coverage when he was mispronouncing town names and just not very familiar with Iowa geography in general.Has he even been on TV lately? Ann is a little easier on the eyes anyway.
(treading delicately on this) I think the climate stuff is more his passion anyways. Many tv news personalities are leaving the industry due to poor hours/low pay. Probably a good move in the long run.Chris Gloninger is leaving KCCI, leaving TV altogether it sounds like.

Lol.. That's just the reality of it, he maybe would have had a warmer reception to it in another market but in Iowa not so much
Really not unexpected considering how everything seems to be ratcheted up to 11 with threats of violence on pretty much any topic. The past 6 months seem like an accelerated death spiral of society for some reason.Wow, that doesn't sound like Iowans at all. Must be that "Iowa Nice" you always hear about.
Probably the dude I went to high school who didn't pass 9th grade science who would always post "Global Warming My ***" whenever the temperature would drop below zero.
I mean, a cold day in Runnells definitely is indicative of global weather patterns across an entire planet.
Agree about the hours as that would be awful if you had a family. Low pay though? I'm guessing most of the on air personalities make 6 figures.(treading delicately on this) I think the climate stuff is more his passion anyways. Now that’s some funny ****.Agree about the hours as that would be awful if you had a family. Low pay though? I'm guessing most of the on air personalities make 6 figures.

And only after their decades of experience.*laughs in broadcasting major*
Yeeaaahhhh.......no. Maaaaaayyyybe Keith and Ed can ask/deserve/are getting in the low 6 figures, but I believe they'd be the only two in this market.
Now that’s some funny ****.
Maybe not common for this market. Back when I worked in the banking world I had a loan for an on-air personality for a major city out east (might have been Boston) and they were making north of 300k. I just assumed that was normal.*laughs in broadcasting major*

Oh in a market like that I believe it especially decades ago. I would feel comfortable saying most of the talent in DSM is making 45-60, CR 40-55. The market size just doesn’t support it for what they make these days. The times of news stations basically printing money are long over.Maybe not common for this market. What is the average salary of a tv meteorologist around here? Now that’s some funny ****.
