I didn’t read this whole thread but just wanted to say, a few young men made incredibly dumb decisions and are paying dearly. Hunter Dekkers went from starting QB at a power 5 conference with the potential to developing into an NFL player to career over. Maybe he will get a chance in arena league.
Morningside and Northwestern (Orange City) will be battling for his services soon.

we need the games to start so we can forget all about this ****.....it's time to focus on the guys on the team who are trying to prove everyone wrong this year.
Your post here has made me realize that enough is enough for me, for a while anyway.

I'll check back in some other time and try to get a Reader's Digest version.

The whole situation (those that placed bets when they shouldn't have) is just so foolish and unwitting. I'd rather be spending my time on something else now, like those currently on the team. Even realignment news is more palatable than this gambling fiasco.

Yes, it is time to focus on football, bring it on!

Slow down there cowboy! There is no need for that kind of speculation and judgement at this time. Not even on this discussion board. You've got your cart wildly in front of your horse.

You are simply reinforcing others opinion of you to latch onto the most negative thing and then run with it incessantly. I was hoping you would stop doing this? There's still time but you need to stop now. No ifs or buts.

Go get involved in the realignment thread.

How about you go back and see what I was responding to first.

I said that if CMC knew in spring 2022, not spring 2023, that Hunter had placed bets on ISU games, and still started him last season…. then he should be gone IMO.

I stand by that. It turns out the poster was referring to spring 2023. I have no issues with that at all.

I forgive you though!

Then maybe just don’t read and post in the gambling thread then. Pretty simple.

Just because you don’t want to read about it doesn’t mean others don’t. There are threads on this site for the topics you want to discuss.

I can read, and I fully knew what you were saying. I guess my point is that you were being pesimistic pretty quickly by even bringing CMC into this. I'm trying to help you here. Just slow down on that some (pesimism), it will serve you well. It's not that I don't like hearing what you might want to say. JMO. I don't mean to be mean.

Wall Street Journal article "The probes showcase the perils of modern sports betting for the NFL, which is attempting to negotiate its newfound embrace of the gambling industry while regulating how its personnel engages with the activity—while also maintaining that the actual games won’t be affected by the spread of legal sports betting."
