Man, NFL twitter is brutal. Every time someone posts something about Purdy, people come out of the woodwork bashing him...saying he's mid, my mom can make that pass, checkdown merchant. I get that he's in a good system and doesn't have a big arm, but he's making it work AND coming off a major surgery. Then there's the Trey Lance apologists who jump at every opportunity to say that their guy isn't getting a fair shake.

Would Purdy be good without a pro-bowl RB, WR and TE? Maybe not, but he's also going to be in the league a long time even if it's as a backup down the line.
----as long as he is able to stay healthy.

If you dig into the comments of Brock haters on Twitter, a good chunk are hawk fans. Lol

I’ll never forget when I watched the game in KC against FSU, couple Iowa fans sitting behind me that had bought Florida State gear and stormed out angry when ISU started killing them in second half. They kept using “us” and “our” but were talking about specific previous Iowa games, not FSU.

I don’t know if they have more of those than most teams, but they certainly seem to have a LOT.

Honestly I’m kind of the other way around, I’ve been checking Murray’s nba stats hoping/seeing how he reaches his potential. Not passionate about it but out of curiosity, I cannot imagine trolling the internet cheering for him to fail, that’s insane. I remember being a fan of Bob Sanders back in the day, I guess anybody who plays a lot against ISU I’m slightly interested to watch at next level unless they’re just the worst person off the field/court. When I watch guys like Griffin, Durant, Buddy or Embiid I still remember seeing them play vs ISU before they went pro, it adds some interest.

Who could possibly get mad at our current most famous guys Brock and Halliburton? They’re among the nicest and most humble star athletes to come through ISU.

Lol agreed. I actually enjoy Kittle and have told several hawk fans I’ve done a 180 on the guy and find him hilarious. Apparently, some hawk fans aren’t capable of that.

I think there’s a small contingent of Hawk fans that latched onto the 49ers when they took CJ Beathard and then Kittle. Brock has already played light years ahead of CJ, so maybe there’s some projection coming from those particular Hawk fans.

What I get from a lot of the hawk fans I know is that Purdy is a system QB in a system and circumstances that greatly benefit him, and while this may be true, can’t you say the same thing about Kittle? Is he benefitting greatly from CM and Samuel being on the field and also from CKS timely play calling? There is a reason Kittle is a chunk play machine and it’s not solely because of Kittle.

If SF is a system QB then why couldn’t Bethard hack it? Dude is not even at system level I guess.

I don't even remember him at Iowa but generally don't have much issue with individual Iowa football players. I don't see the same weirdness from their players as their fans.

I was watching Bethard today, and he is a great backup QB, he made one great pass, dropped it right over the shoulder of the DB into the waiting arms of the receiver. His problem is then he turns around and takes a sack or a WTFWT throw, just like Purdy would do at ISU.

Bethard is the type of backup QB a team's needs, ready to come in a play a series or two, maybe a game or two, but if you are playing him anymore than that, you are in trouble.

Purdy has stopped making the silly throws and is nimble enough to get outside the pocket and pick up some yards. Bethard has neither of those traits.

NFL is a results league more than anything. You get results, you play. Purdy gets results. None of the rest really matters, no matter the haters.

an extra $72.99/mo recurring. On top of the $80/month for youtube basic. Then add for ESPN+, Netflix, etc. Remember when you thought streaming was going to be a cheap alternate to cable.
I don't pay for Youtube TV, so I just paid $400 for Sunday Ticket. First time ever, but I really want to watch Purdy and the Iowa State Jets. I'm excited to be able to choose the game I watch rather than whatever CBS and Fox think I want to watch. I've been a colts fan for a long time, but since Peyton left CBS never airs them in Iowa. I can finally watch them lose too.

Where are you seeing $72.99 on top of $80 a month? If you already have Youtube TV, then Sunday Ticket only costs $299 right now. You don't have to pay $80+$72.99 plus the Sunday Ticket price.
