This was a another key passage from Campbell's postgame comments:

Q: How tough a team is Iowa to come back on when they get up double digits on you?

A: You know, you don't want to get behind, but that's football, right? Like, it's gonna happen. To me, I was almost, like, waiting for it to happen at some point to our team and see how we responded and so that's college football in a nutshell. Like, it's "yeah, get off to a great start." You know, I chuckle - like you've heard me say it a million times, "okay, great, well we'd love to," but that's not always going to happen so how do you respond when you don't. And man I thought we passed a huge test there today.

Talk about an understatement. It's as if we're allergic to it.

Starts at 2:04 in the video.
You can't make me listen. Heard it all before.

Fingernails on a blackboard.

Campbell doesn't seem to mind the early season losses. I think he uses them (and key plays like getting stuffed on 4th and 1) to motivate the players. It's worked in the past. Hopefully it will work again this season.
September hasn't been kind to us in the Campbell era. But we all know Brocktober has been usually the reverse.

I hate losing to Iowa and not playing great against them every year it seems, but obviously both teams have much more important games in conference. And losing this game doesn't mean we can't have a good season.

Personally, I wish the Iowa game was during "Rivalry Week" in Nov. later in the season. We'd probably see a much more entertaining game if that were the case, and probably more W's.

This isn't difficult. Can't spend years bragging about building a culture and then get a total pass when some of your best players have so little respect for that culture that they put their own careers and the team's success in jeopardy.

Players bet against their own team - does that not give you pause on this supposedly great culture?

Let me know when the NCAA makes players ineligible for half their seasons or ends their careers for unpaid bills or speeding tickets.

So it's a good thing that those players aren't with the team.

The lack of urgency is maddening. It's been around awhile now though. If you think back to Brock's senior year and all the slow starts, followed by furious late second half rallies that fell short....I don't know, it's like he always thinks we have 5 quarters or something.
He did literally say "we just ran out of time" in his presser lol.

We certainly do play like it a lot.

Texas is the only team on our schedule who I’d be worried about and even then, we get them at home in November. We’re still finding our identity on offense and who our playmakers are. The only skill player returning from last years offense who saw PT is Noel.

I think we’ll see Sama become the starting RB at some point this year, Higgins be the stud we’ve all heard about, and Brahmer will end the year as our top TE.

Just running practice out there. This is what should be figured out BEFORE the season starts.

Anyone think that maybe the reason why we have to play that way on offense is that we don't have enough playmakers? Just a thought, because we've seen this offense throw up lots of points before. Campbell always preaches players, formations, plays; we just don't have enough playmakers to sling it around the field.

Higgins is great, but all of our receivers have shown to have stones for hands. Iowa decided to put Cooper Dejean as a spy on Brahmer, our TE. That's what Iowa thinks about our skill position players.

My favorite is clonedude taking from it that he hates the fans.
What makes you think he doesn't?

When does HE take accountability?

You think he is happy he was FORCED to formally address special teams, and fire his best pal?

Live long enough, and you easily recognize an egotistical narcissist.

Sure, you'll tolerate one if you are benefitting from them, be it through profit or wins.

But without those, you're just dealing with a jerk.

Could be our QB and how they think he reads the field and his willingness to accept risk also, especially after the pick 6. (Which turned out to be the difference in the game).

Edit: Don't think we see that touchdown throw unless our backs are against the wall.

Can you imagine wasting multiple hundreds of dollars and something like 12 hours by actually going to the game?
Unfortunately, I just decided to cancel my trip to BYU. I can't keep shelling out for the current product.

Tired of our "star" wide receiver, dropping every pass...and letting kicks bounce instead of catching them.

JN couldnt catch anything last year, I thought he was supposed to be better this year.

The dude should not see another minute until, he learns to catch, or they buy an extreme amount of super stick em.
I don't remember what kind of recruit Noel was, but based on his hype as a freshman and the growth that was expected, I'd consider him a complete bust at this point. As a returner, he continually makes the wrong decisions. As a receiver, he can't catch a damn thing. Shouldn't even be on the field.

Yes, clearly we’re dealing with a jerk.

And more frustrating than that is the fact that our offense doesn't work especially well against teams not named Iowa, so even the reasoning of "Iowa is just a bad matchup for us" falls flat.
Did you miss the (multiple) seasons where we were near or top in the conference in passing?

And now Ben Bruns has caved too. You have to be kidding me!

Just listened to him on Iowa Everywhere. Basically praised how good Iowa is, praised our really young team for being able to hang in there... said Iowa will likely go on to have another great season... and basically said our season will suck... but only because of how young we are... and we all need to still be excited and be supportive because he thinks the future will be bright even though we're going to struggle a lot this season.

He wasn't even upset with how long we were taking on that TD drive.... because.... of course.... we're so young!

So.. speaking of 'tired'... I'm tired of all this BS. All of the ISU media is just slurping up all the BS that CMC puts out. Just awful. We all knew we were going to suck this year... so it's all fine!!
you may want to consider the fact that people smarter than you are singing the same tune, and you aren't
