I was there too. One of, if not my favorite sporting event I got to attend
The only close one for me is the 2018 PGA Championship when Tiger made a charge. They let way to many people in that Sunday, it was a disaster leaving, but during it the atmosphere was insane.

is it better to lose this thing by choking all over on day 1 vs being in contention on sunday and pissing it away?

I have to say my favorite part of every Ryder Cup is the broadcaster talking about the team room setup. Like adding a foosball table is the stroke of genius that will turn the tide of these matches. I'm sure the guys liking each other does go a long way, but I love the idea of Zach Johnson stressing over the exact placement of a poker table or something.

Gotta love how ZJ said our guys didn’t practice much coming into this because this course is physically demanding. He thought they needed to be well rested.

OMG…. really? Such an American attitude.

its ******* golf. all you are doing is walking around outdoors and exerting effort in a swing once every 5 minutes. JFC.

Yes, because the Euro team, who has managed to practice this course plenty, is filled with absolute physical specimens:

I've been at every major at Hazeltine since the '91 US Open. The Ryder cup in 2016 was one of the greatest sporting events I've ever been too...and that includes a super bowl.

I went to the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits and while it was a great time, it's a horrible viewer event. On Friday and Saturday all the action is packed onto 4-5 holes and (at least with that setup) it was damn near impossible to see what was happening. You either followed and it couldn't see, or jumped ahead several holes and spent 90+ minutes waiting for them to get to you.

The atmosphere was great and we had a blast, but saw very few actual shots.

I get Thomas and Spieth are like Batman and Robin. But I don’t see how you can send Spieth out there again. Then again I’m not sure who you’d replace him with
