I always say about Brock, never underestimate him, nothing he does suprises me, he's one of those very very rare people.

Only thing I worry about Brock is if he gets hurt. Not saying he will, just that everyone has to deal with injuries.

No, I'm assessing his performance over all of the 10 games he's started. That performance has been historical.

He's 12 - 0 in games he didn't tear his elbow. Regular season, playoffs, last year, this year, home, on the road, all inclusive. The stat line BTW is outrageous in TD / INT ratio, QBR, QB rating, completion percentage.

In fact 13 - 0. Because the Miami game last year Jimmy G got hurt early. Brock played more than 3/4 of that game and won it too. So if you want you could include that too.

I figured it was that day. Folks were upset that I mentioned KSU could still tie it, and then you came in with the accurate note/prediction. Oh, that was a bad one.
The only silver lining in that game was that it solidified for everyone (even the Rhoads apologists) that the head coach HAD to go. Jamie may still have canned him even had we beaten PurpleKitty - but that big of a coaching error could not be ignored & seemed to be the final nail in the coffin - no more CPR for CPR, if you will.

No national tv for the game on Sunday. Vikings vs bears is on fox in Iowa.
I think the 'flex' policy might be at work now with the 49ers. They will be on our (southwest MO) Fox station at 12pm, 49ers at the Browns.

People are interested in seeing them, I think. It's not just Cyclone fans.

Aren't Viking or Bears considered by some to be NFC region or "local" to Iowa maybe? Last year that might have been a good game, but the Vikings are fading fast.

Crap, I'm liking Rodgers more now due to his compliments of ISU and Ames.
Rodgers is seeming more personable, happier being in NY, even after his injury. Pretty good to listen to him and the Jets, first couple of episodes, on Jets One. I've stopped listening since his injury.

I think he wore out his welcome in Green Bay. He might not have been real happy when they selected Love. And he made some weird political statements for awhile there, not so honest with the covid 'immunization' or vaxing or whatever.

But he is pretty interesting and intelligent. Like I said, he seems different in NY.

Dumb hawk fan had to chime in.

That's not even a tone of fun rivalry, that is extreme butthurt to call Ames the armpit like that and make noises against Purdys success and whatnot. He made himself look like an uneducated ass to those guys and good on them for defending Ames and Purdy. I don't think he grasps that the joke is on him.

If he's a system QB that's one hell of a system.

He IS a system QB but there is a difference in being (solely) a benefactor of the system and being part of the system's success.

People act like every great QB was the only reason they were great when, in reality, it took players and a system to maximize that ability. Brady had security blankets underneath like Edelman and Welker, then had super talented TEs like Gronk and Jailnandez as well as one of the all-time best vertical threats, Randy Moss. Rodgers (most recently) had Davante Adams when he was MVP. Mahomes has had Reek and Kelce. Brees had Graham and Colston...and the list goes on.

You need players that have the ability to make the plays work, which SF obviously does, and a QB that can read the defense, make the right decisions, have have precise ball placement. That's EXACTLY what Purdy is doing right now and he deserves a lot of credit for that. There's a reason why Shanahan was so quick to Dump Lance and Garroppolo once it was clear Purdy was making his recovery. They knew they had a guy who could place the ball, make the reads, and understand what Shanahan was/is trying to do.

I said this earlier, but I think Shanahan is brilliant, even moreso than his father was. Mike really pioneered the zone blocking scheme that made Denver a running juggernaut, regardless of who their running back was. Kyle is amazing at devising plays where his targets run specific routes with the idea of having them open progressively throughout the protection cycle. Just like anything it doesn't always work, but go back and watch a lot of their plays. If you break down the play in a short 11-2/3 second window, there are outlets Purdy can hit if pressured. If he has longer, there are vertical plays downfield he can exploit. If he has all day or gets flushed out of the pocket (throwing on the run) guys are open or know exactly how to break off their route. Then you have the ultimate safety valve in McCaffrey who can run, block, and catch out of the backfield.

The 49er offense is the best offense in the league right now. They have excellent design, a good offensive line, talented skill players, and a QB who understands the offense. I don't think people understand how HARD it is to have a (good enough) QB and head coach/player on the same page. I almost guarantee you that Shanahan wakes up with massive boners every morning knowing he has a QB that understands and can execute his offense.

On an almost equally sad note, it royally pisses me off our offense was a FRACTION of what it should have been while Brock was here. Manning/CMC ran a total piece of **** offense and did little to fix the timing windows that were constant issues while he was here. That **** should be a crime.
