If you’ve lived in Ames during any downpour you should already know to avoid that area.Must have rained like a cow pissing on a flat rock in Ames. They had to close Grand by the underpass for awhile.
Tornado warning for Ames
My BIL called to say he was watching this very Tornado live as he spoke Friday.At least we know where that Twister is headed. It's going to hit Cincinnati tomorrow morning!

Yup, thankfully the ground soaked it all up as it largely came over long periods of time.I was back and drove over the Wapsi today and it didn't look much different than Friday.
And no creeks came up that I saw.

We have a little standing water up around the blue earth river. Muddy ground also.At least in North Central Iowa the Des Moines River and the West Fork have come up appreciably. Actually at a really nice level for paddling if I had more time and the weather was a touch warmer.
