Don't try reasoning with anyone in here, they are all officiating experts all of a sudden even though 100% of them wouldn't have had a clue before the play.
Ok, let me ask you this then. Normally if you go back to review something like possession on an out of bounds ball, is it normal to look at that, rewind the video 10 seconds and then look for let's say a foul, and then call that? That's pretty much what happened last night according to Feretnz.

We've been told for years that a when a play is under review, everything about the play is under review. Not just the one aspect of the play that initiated the review.

You nailed it right there. Listen to the officials.
So he's lying? He claims the official told him they were reviewing to see whether he stepped out of bounds then out of nowhere they are looking at something else that happened 10 seconds earlier.

Go watch the video, nobody on the Minnesota sideline reacted at all either. Wouldn't Fleck have been going nuclear if he thought there was some deception on the punt return?

Solid burn, except for every one like this you can find 10 examples where they don't call it. The only problem is you won't find that stuff on social media because it's not controversial and nobody even thinks twice about it during the game.

But thanks for "educating" us that think it was highly judgmental and in a huge gray area.

Reminded me of the Paul Shirley blarge call against us in 2000.
Us? Lol…Paul Shirley didn’t play for Iowa.

He was going nuclear. He wanted a flag and was told that they couldn’t call a penalty during replay. This was not called a penalty. It was blown dead because the motion had the defender ease up and stay away to avoid a kick catch interference penalty. Which, BTW, DeJean did draw earlier in the game when he stuck his arm out to make contact with a defender.

Kirk also said that is just how Cooper runs with his arms flailing around also. Kirk is throwing crap at the wall

How the hell do you get a kick catch interference on a ball that bounces and then is fielded?

I saw in Cooper’s post game interview he made similar comments, saying he was just trying to keep his balance and keep from going out of bounds or something….
This is the most ridiculous company line coming out of the postgame. Capt Kirk could have really come full circle if he just would have added that he believed the refs had a ‘blindspot’ regarding DeJean’s ’normal’ running action.

That's total bs, look at him during the play, he had the " I can't believe we just lost to Iowa again on a play like that" look. He only got fired up after somebody put it in his ear that maybe there was a way we could squirm out of this or the refs told him and he was like " Yeah, you're right, that was an illegal fair catch signal".

There's no way in hell anybody in that stadium would have even given it a second thought had they not called anything.

I have never understood troll mentality.

Why do they live on another team’s message board just to be jerks?

And when they lose, why do they run here to cry about it? I mean, they have Iowa Awesome so that must be awesome, right?
Troll? This is the general college football thread and as an Iowa State fan I'm questioning the valdidty of that call.

Don't pretend you wouldn't be going nuclear if this happened to us. As usual you guys let your hatred for people in your own state get in the way of logical thinking. That's not very "Iowa Nice".

Not to mention Hawkeye Fanatic . . . . I'm surprised CW doesn't have to pay royalties since Iowa invented the word fanatic.
