I get more and more impressed with his accuracy every week. He is really on target.

Even at cincy, he was high to his TEs in the end zone, but he did that every time. He threw it exactly where he wanted it. Those were catchable - tough, but catchable.

Agree. His misses are almost always a touch high or or too far…. which is why he hasn’t turned it over very much also.

Put it where either your guy makes the catch or it’s incomplete. Smart.

Honestly worst play I’ve seen Rocco make this year was against Baylor with the INT near the end of the first half. Wasn’t sure what he was aiming at or what the logic was, unlike most of his other interceptions this season which I could justify. Overall pleased with how he’s played tho. We could become truly dominant if he takes that next step

I think it will come. Seems like at times he breaks free from the pocket and let's it rip. In time I think he can slow it down and regroup before he chucks it downfield.

I'll have to disagree on this one, Noel stopped his route. Throw was a little high I suppose but not picked if Noel finishes.

I saw a lot of people blaming Noel for slowing. It was obviously an extended route and he and Rocco weren't in sync. Happens all the time.

4 TDs to break Brock's FR record
8 completions to break Meyer's FR record
Brock can give up some of those records. Didn't think this one would happen so soon after he was gone. And crazy that Meyer's stood until now.

Yeah that was a bad snap and not to be to critical but looked like lazy route running.

My take on this one:
1) low snap (one of the very few not-great snaps from Jim). John/Eric on the radio thought the snap probably caused Rocco's internal clock to speed up too much
2) rain - at that point in the game, the rain was coming down steadily. Possibly contributed to the accuracy. Didn't see Noels break out of his cut, but possible traction issues as well.
3) just a bad throw. Honestly it looked a lot like Purdy's first INT against the vikings that past monday. It was a timing route and the timing was off and the throw was probably too far in front anyway.

The LB did not contact Noel despite what the announcers said.

Rocco was ideally 1-2 years away from being ready. I think he’s met or exceeded every expectation I had of him this year. There’s been some dumb throws, but he’s also been really good in other areas. Excited to see him these last 3 games.

What Rocco has done this season as a freshman is pretty damn impressive. We’ve got a good one that we should have the pleasure of watching for another 3 years

Ready for what?

He was ready to start now. He just didn’t have a seasoned supporting cast around him right off the bat—the way Brock did.

I don’t get what some of you folks come up with sometimes.
I think at this point on CF it is just a time-honored tradition that so many think the guy not starting must be better.

I blame Tiller

And he is only getting better as the season progresses. 145.4 rating in conference and 161.1 in November.

I think most of us get it but at the same time it’s almost like this isn’t being said enough. He’s really, really good. And if you’ve met him in person, you’d find him to be just a really good dude too (atleast that was my impression). He’s one that’s really easy to rally around. These next 3 years, as you said, have the makings to be so fun.

ISU freshman record for touchdown passes (17) and passing yards (2,444) that were previously held by Brock Purdy, as well as record for completions (201). He is just the 10th freshman in Big 12 history to reach 200 completions
This is quite mind blowing.
We were so amazed by Purdy ... and Rocco's accomplishments just sort of yawned their way into the books.
Looking forward to seeing him kick some serious ass as he continues to mature and the game slows down for him year by year.
Also one heck of a father to keep developing him.

I agree. Brock didn’t start till Okie st that year though, remember.
