I pretty much just assume brand names will get the benefit of the doubt.

I'm too tired to fight it anymore. That's just the world we live in.
See, my plan (should I be given the power) is simple. To maje the playoff, you have to win your conference.

Unfortunately my plan doesn’t result in enough $$$ for the big guys in CFB. The bully conferences like the SEC and B1G wouldn’t go for it because they “deserve” multiple playoff teams because “it just means more.” And Notre Dame wouldn’t like it because they’d have to join a conference.

I just think it’d be so much cleaner and simpler if the criteria was clean and simple. Win your conference, you’re in. Finish second in your division with one loss? Aw, too bad, I guess somebody else in your conference is already better than you, why do you think you deserve a natty? You’re 12-0 but you unexpectedly lose your CCG to the 130th best offense in the land? Gee, that sucks, you should have played better.

Take the human biases out of it completely. Win your conference, you get a chance at a national title. Of course, this setup works best if you’ve got, like, 12 major conferences with 10 to 12 members apiece, so everybody is playing round-robins or close to it, to determine a true conference champ. Under that setup, it also probably works best without CCGs (so your “one true champion” doesn’t get upset at the end) but again - $$$.

Do we really want to see Okie St get their doors blown off by Texas in the title game either? OU is WAY better than Okie St right now.
That’s how I look at it too. OU getting into the Big 12 title game could move them to a NY6 which means all Big 12 would bump up their bowl spots

Complete embarrassment by OSU.....at home...to be losing to BYU like this. These guys need to show some pride. So much on the line for them, and to come out like this? Imagine the meltdown here on this board if it were our guys responding like this.

I completely agree. It's bs how a team can be crowned national champions while not even being the champions of their own conference.

I beat that horse for years. Unfortunately with conference consolidation it's a hopeless cause now.

agree, I don't think we understand how bad this is for their fan base. Basically it would be like Iowa leaving the conference for greener pastures after blowing up the conference. we have a home game in Jack Trice against a crappy team to all but seal our place in the title game and keeping Iowa and we get blown out allowing our rival to take our place. I would not want to be living in the state of Oklahoma as an OSU fan....ugh.

Just like Missouri winning the Big 12 tournament on the way out. Chants of “SEC-SEC!” next week. Gross. Cheering for OU as the lesser of two evils because watching Yormark have to present the trophy to Texas would puke inducing.

Good Lord Arizona up 38-7 on Arizona St. late 2nd Qtr.

Noah Fifita threw for 357 yards in the first half. And just threw for another TD on U of A’s first drive in the third quarter. ASU ran up the score on Arizona 2 years ago to the tune of 70-7. Methinks the Wildcats will not be taking their foot of the gas in this one.

Arizona is pretty damn good if you haven’t watched them in the 2nd half of this season. Jeff Fisch has that program ticking.

Aaaaand Fifita just threw a 50 yard TD

Don't cheer very often for a 17 point favorite to win. Cowboys were terrible in first half against Houston last week before they woke up. Looks like they might still have a shot at a comeback.

OSU is in over texas by a lot, FSU is complicated now with their QB, bama has beat no one but LSU, and their loss is worse than OSU. Plus they will lose to Georgia.

Georgia, Michigan, Pac12, then it’s OSU or FSU. Texas needs a big win in the championship to move up.
Alabama also beat Ole Miss (10-2) - which is arguably their best win. I suppose LSU is their second best win (at the moment).

Moreover, if Alabama beats Auburn and Georgia, finishes (12-1) and wins the SEC, there is a 0 % chance that Ohio State (11-1) will be ranked ahead of the Tide.

In the mean-time, Auburn has their Voodoo dolls out again, and the Tide are in a nut cruncher at Jordan-Hare Stadium AGAIN!

Totally agree that if they beat Georgia they are in, but they are struggling with auburn so that’s not happening
