I try to avoid thinking early games mean a lot but there are some limitations for ISU right now that makes me less than confident for tonight and Iowa.

Hopefully those things iron out by conference season.
If the pre-conference SOS wasn't so shifty I'd feel OK. But if we lose against the decent teams it makes conference season that much tougher. We will grow like football. And we need Ward back.

I think Omaha 'finding it' and improved perimeter defense are going to be keys and those two things may be connected but may not happen over the next two weeks.

Vegas line has ISU favored by 3. Hope they're right, but I'm sure not getting arrested for over-confidence on this one!

Acceptable start
Yep definitely some really solid things about the start. Tre with 2 tough plays; he can’t get owned in the paint like that (his shot was blocked and he somehow still was the 1 who hit it last), and then unacceptable mistake not securing the rebound right there.

With A&M missing 2 of their studs, it is critical that we win in the margins, because if A&M is getting the lose balls and the tough rebounds, that’s how they win this game. Absolutely cannot give them confidence that they can beat us missing 2 of their best players.
