These posts trashing Biliew for not single handedly saving our offense during his five minutes on the court have finally made me understand why Harrison Barnes chose North Carolina
You're the one that thinks he is going to make a difference when he is not ready. Are you off your meds?

when you go 10 mins without scoring, that is going to happen.
the difference this year is the lack of ball security, especially from our guards.
So this is probably the best competition Jones has seen in awhile against the 3 teams played. Gilbert too though MWC has some solid hoops teams. Definitely for Pavs.

Hoping they have some teaching moments.

Still think there is talent there. Gilbert seemed to be an in high demand transfer.

Pavs seems pretty savvy. Jones probably is the biggest work in progress.

Eh, I dunno. The football game was meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Fun? Yep. Basketball - yep, we get it - long season, plenty of time to improve, blah blah blah. But these last 3 games flat out sucked. Not just the losing, but the team does not look to be very good. This looks like TJ’s worst squad in 3 years (and it’s not any younger or ‘new’ than his other teams). I don’t care about preseason rankings or recruiting rankings or how we “thought” in the offseason we had put together a balanced squad that could shoot - the team just doesn’t look very good right now. Can they improve? Yep. Again, we get it. I personally just didn’t expect a week ago that today I would look at this squad worried if it’s any good at all.

And for the 100th time - these November games do matter. These losses do matter.

I don’t see us beating iowa either. God, that will be really, really embarrassing :(

It would matter more if our conference wasn't loaded. It's not like the Big 12 won't provide opportunities.

We could play all scrubs in non conf and still end up with a top 30-35ish SOS.

The worst schedule in the entire Big 12 last year was 29th.

Some concerns for sure but also lots of stuff that I think is stuff they can work on and get better at. Still a lot of guys to gel. I think this team will get better. They were in both their losses and didn't play particularly well for most of either game.

The problem is we need a McDonald’s AA to start making an impact. With him being unable to do anything, it hurts us. It’s head scratching that our highest rated recruit in history is currently our 9th-10th best player at the moment. Him being unable to improve and adjust could be the big difference between us being a tournament team or not.
Oh my gosh, he isn't ready right now that doesn't mean that a light won't come on and he won't be a contributor by Mid-January or something. Give him a little time.

Yes I'm worried about iowa and about 15 other teams on ISU's schedule!
Yes but Iowa is by far the most mentioned and not a #1 caliber team that we play twice.

I also think the difference is that we aren’t as good on the defensive end as the previous TJ years
Agreed we definitely do not seem as physical. Gabe would just beat on opponents. Brockington was a nightmare for opponents guards as well.

Also I do think the new rules kind of neuterd ISU given that everything is a block now

Our offense has been painful to watch in Orlando. But my bet is TJ will be more focused on the defense.

A&M scored 59 points in 23 minutes tonight. We got beat to most loose balls and 50/50 boards in the 2nd half.

On offense 56percent of our shots (34 of 61) were 3 point attempts. Based on our jump shooting so far this season, probably not a winning formula to take so many 3's. I mentioned it yesterday in a post, but we need to be willing to take mid-range jumpers vs. driving into a crowd or defaulting to guys standing on the 3 pt line.

Nice, a mental illness joke. It’s a good thing you don’t know my race or you might start calling me slurs
Good point, sorry for the reference to meds. Not nice. We've moved into a different time.

Now, you just seemed to be talking out of both sides of your mouth.

And you're barking up the wrong tree with the race slur Sir or Madame. Try again.

Harrison Barnes was ready for the NBA out of high school if he could have went.

These players do still happen...but the NBA has it set up now where they never have to take that gamble of taking someone on pure potential who hasn't shown anything at a high level.

There are so many players who prove a lot in the one year and every year more and more international players justifiably taking a higher % of the first round picks.

Omaha was always going to be in a position where if he scored over 10 and rebounded over 5...yeah maybe that gets him drafted on potential. They aren't drafting on exclusively potential anymore because they don't have to.
