Another: Tracey Ullman's They Don't Know. The single went to #8 on the Hot 100 in 1983. The follow up charted at #70 (Breakaway), but she never reached the U.S. charts again.
Uh, "Remember When" was huge for Bad Wolves. Not sure this can even be considered a one hit wonder as it’s a cover song. There are quite a few examples of bands not doing anything besides a lucky cover song that got airplay. Another example is Zombie by Bad Wolves
I think what I learned from my Blur post is that our exposure to a band comes through various mediums across different time periods with different radio or tv stations. So while something like Semisonic is a band I liked a whole cd of, most would consider them a one hit wonder.Uh, "Remember When" was huge for Bad Wolves.
What I've gathered from skimming through this is a lot of people struggle with counting.
That album was a full-on 60s vibe. Loved it.Breakaway was released before They Don't Know in the UK and was a huge hit there. I thought it was a great choice for her, but I was already familiar with it from Irma Thomas's version from the 60's.
Interesting tidbit - song was co-written by Jackie DeShannon and Sharon Sheeley. Jackie was big in the 60's, as well, including touring with the Beatles. Sharon Sheeley was Eddie Cochran's girlfriend and a song writer with her own credits. She was in the same car accident in the UK that killed Eddie Cochran, and was severely injured.
I appreciate the compliment! No. Coach is too classy for that family
This was actually the #2 follow-up to the #4 Real Real Real.
Had to look that up. Never heard that song in my life, but I’ll take your word for itUh, "Remember When" was huge for Bad Wolves.
