Because bama beat Georgia, this isn’t hard. They jumped FSU and Texas dominated so they also jumped. This isn’t hard to figure out.
That's not why. They couldn't leave an SEC team out. Or Texas. That isn't hard to figure out.

It shouldn’t be about which games are going to look better (well, actually it is, to the TV networks anyway - but it shouldn’t be). It should be about which teams proved themselves worthy over the course of the season. Not sure what else you’re supposed to do besides win all your games. What game would u all rather watch? A undermanned Florida state vs Michigan or Alabama vs Michigan? I think you are lying to yourself if you don’t think Bama gives Michigan the better game right now than Florida State
I think a key in their decision is that both Travis and Rodemaker are/were out. Had Rodemaker not been out with a concussion vs LVille, they would have another game to evaluate his play. I don't think FSU ruled Rodemaker doubtful until yesterday morning or Friday night. Then why even rank them 4 going into this week. What changed?
The best 4 team thing is BS too, a team wins 29 games in a row or whatever and loses in a CCG against another team who is top 4 in their opinion and drops to 6? You’re telling me they think FSU, with their backup QB is better than Georgia? The committee makes literally no sense. Hypocrisy abounds.
Cynic in me thinks ESPN and committee did this on purpose to blow up the ACC even sooner.
It’s both, it’s easy to see why it happened. Also bama is better than FSU right now. Putting up 16 on Louisville is sad. I wish FSU was in trust me, but they got the current 4 best teams. That's not why. They couldn't leave an SEC team out. Or Texas. That isn't hard to figure out.
Only beating Auburn by 3 on an absolute prayer is also pretty sad. It’s both, it’s easy to see why it happened. Also bama is better than FSU right now. Putting up 16 on Louisville is sad. I wish FSU was in trust me, but they got the current 4 best teams.
And got pushed out by a team that played freaking Chattanooga in November because they are above the criteria applied to other teamsThe playoff isn’t supposed to be about which conference is stronger, or the historical performance of your conference. It’s supposed to be getting four teams in based on their performance during this one particular season.
FSU did everything asked of them, played two SEC teams out of conference (they didn’t have to do that, how many P5 teams play two P5 non-con games?), and won them all. What else does the committee think they were supposed to do?
Alabama and the top of the SEC is good, no question. But FSU deserved it more this season.
Only beating Auburn by 3 on an absolute prayer is also pretty sad.
The entire dysfunction of the sport, America's second favorite, boils down to this.College football: where conference affiliation and tv partners mean more than winning.
I get it, but just about all the teams had a close win, including FSU. Plus it’s the iron bowl so it gets the benefit of the doubt, again it might not be fair but that’s the way it worksOnly beating Auburn by 3 on an absolute prayer is also pretty sad.
“Justified”No it hasn’t because we’re moving to a 12 team so this isn’t an issue anymore. Plus when bama wins the whole thing they will be justified just like when OSU did it.
Literally never disagreed with you all Nostradamus and pompous asshats like yourself. I said it is the wrong thing to do. I made money with this decision as the four teams that got in was +340 on Fanduel because that's what I was sure would happen. Doesn't mean I think it's right.Dude myself and many others told you this exact thing was happening yesterday. This shouldn’t be surprising. They play in the ACC and lost their star QB and simply aren’t getting the benefit of the doubt. People can call for change and it’s legit getting changed next season.
I am sure ESPN wanted them, Michigan, Georgia, and BamaI'm totally shocked Ohio State didn't weasel there way in somehow.
My apologies, fellow poster.Michigan
Washington
Texa$
Bama
Sorry FSU, your league is doo doo
Fair, I don’t necessarily think it’s right either, it’s just the way it is. Next year with 12 won’t have this issue at leastLiterally never disagreed with you all Nostradamus and pompous asshats like yourself. I said it is the wrong thing to do. I think this is the bigger issue. Yes, FSU got robbed this year. But it is the constant mental gymnastics the committee engages in every year that clearly comes from their preference and bias towards the Big 10 and SEC.If the committee didn’t have the FSU QB excuse they would have just let Alabama in over Texas because Bama beat the #1 team. ESPN would then trash Okie State and the Big 12 to fit the narrative. Texas would have been 6 with Georgia 5.
Wait wait wait you were the one clamoring how Florida State struggled against a terrible Florida team, but that in-state, road rivalry doesn't count in finding a way to win? Iron Bowl is just different though. Gotcha.I get it, but just about all the teams had a close win, including FSU. Plus it’s the iron bowl so it gets the benefit of the doubt, again it might not be fair but that’s the way it works
Well, I mean, it's in tandem with the fact that Florida State never lost? An Iron Bowl against 6-6 Auburn who just got floored the week before by New Mexico State isn't that impressive. Especially disproves the fact that Alabama somehow has really turned on the jets later in the season, which is just a bunch of baloney.I get it, but just about all the teams had a close win, including FSU. Plus it’s the iron bowl so it gets the benefit of the doubt, again it might not be fair but that’s the way it works
