Greg McElroy talking about how hard it is for a team to overcome subpar QB play.

Reminder that he went 6/11 for 58 yards and 0 TDs with like a 25 QBR in the 2010 natty.

This is just sickening
Yeah he and Mark Ingram (who was insufferable on Fox Big Noon yesterday) can't be objective. Ingram was downright just going all in because Bama is his school. Get these clowns out of here. You can have your opinion, but when it's clearly clouded by your affiliation to a particular school then you shouldn't be on these shows. Ingram was embarrassing yesterday.

I think a key in their decision is that both Travis and Rodemaker are/were out. Had Rodemaker not been out with a concussion vs LVille, they would have another game to evaluate his play. I don't think FSU ruled Rodemaker doubtful until yesterday morning or Friday night.

Are they seriously getting down to the granular level? That seems dumb. There aren’t coaches or pro scouts on the committee right?

At least Ingram was just open about it. Greg thinks he's trying to be unbiased.

Cynic in me thinks ESPN and committee did this on purpose to blow up the ACC even sooner.
Knowing what we know about all the realignment stuff that is not cynical at all. Very real possibility

Next year there will be at least
But you’re saying it now, with nothing but your own opinion to back it up.

Just like the committee is doing - which, if you go back a few pages of this thread, you’ll see their own written guidelines say total wins and conference championships are supposed to bear more weight than “eye test”

Also, why in the bloody hell were Texas and Bama behind Ohio State last week? It's an optics thing of jumping from 8 to 4 if you are Bama. They should have been ahead of Ohio State last week.

I said this was going to be the result all day yesterday. I’m not surprised by this but I would 100% rather see FSU in, both to punish the SEC for their 8 game conference schedule and so Michigan didn’t have to play them.

However this is the way the committee had operated so it was going to be this way, glad to move to 12 teams next year.

Oh if they could have found a way to keep texas out (and put in both bama/georgia) they would have. Had Texas beaten another high quality team instead that was not Alabama (And alabamas loss was similarly not to texas) they probably would have.

But there was no way to put in Alabama and not put in the team that beat them head to head.
And if Auburn beats Bama and Bama still beats Georgia, Georgia is in.

Because they won the head to head, same reason texas got in
So that year records and the results of a game mattered? My perception that year told me Ohio State was better. I thought the goal was to get the best 4 team in? That’s what I’m being told over and over.

I also can’t believe the chair of the CFP committee is the athletic director for NC State and he might have just chaired a committee that made a decision that is the catalyst for the ACC breaking up.

Bingo. This will be spun by lawyers to legitimize leaving ACC. The tune will change to something like “being left behind” and terminating their membership with cause. IANAL, just spitballing.

My tinfoil hat: it wouldn’t shock me if we find out years later that ESPN planted this seed for it to play out like this. They have a sweetheart deal with ACC, but FSU is a big brand to add to their SEC portfolio.

The crackup of college football has gone too far already. I'm not sure Oregon State and Washington State are done having their say. To blow up the ACC now would make it real difficult to keep Congress and courts out of it.

Sigh, they played head to head. Come on man, I get your point but pick a better example.

I get people cracking these jokes but in reality today did not to affect the GOR or the buy out amount. FSU wanted out years ago.
