9 of 14 B12 teams are in Kenpom Top 40 for Big 12.
Switch it to next year's mix after losing Texas/OU and it's 10 of 16 teams including adding the AP #1 ranked team. Probably overall slightly better, but way better toward top.
For comparison Big Ten has 4 of its 16 in top 40 right now and 5 of 18 if you use next year's teams.
Big 12 should get something like 10-11 at large bids and the B12T champ if they actually look for the true best teams. KState and Texas Tech are just outside top 40. I have a feeling several teams that would be locks in other conferences are going to be fighting to get to .500 (hoping not ISU).
We're ten-ish games in now so there's some actual data and 40 is a relevant number given how many at large spots get filled. This is some crazy depth. SEC football can't even come close to matching this, they only have 8 of the top 40 in football Massey average right now and there aren't 10 teams from Big East/MWC/WCC/AAC eating up spots in that one like there is in hoops.
