I guess if they won they would have had a legitimate claim to the title then wouldnt they. It's Florida State that was chirping this.About 25 FSU players opted out.

I don’t think the bowl season has been relevant for awhile once the playoffs kicked off. The NY6 bowls had some mojo but once the top NFL talent opted out it became an issue, especially as the top NFL talent has consolidated to a handful of schools.I agree that opting out is best for the players involved. But, it’s not best for the sport if it wants to continue with the bowl system. So I’m looking at it from the perspective of CFB and what they can do to keep the bowl system relevant. And limiting the opt outs will be necessary to do so.
It can be possible that different groups have different objectives and goals. The players have all the leverage, so CFB will need to find a way to incentivize participating. Otherwise, the bowl system as we know it needs to just go away. This charade of teams playing without half their starters will make the bowls even more irrelevant than they already are.
Posting an article about a player this season leaving a team in October when my original point was about opt outs and transfers is...?
I’m not sure where we lost him but I’m just letting it go.A player that never played?
Bowl season has turned into a made for TV movie. Lower production value and some poor acting.I don’t think the bowl season has been relevant for awhile once the playoffs kicked off. The expanded playoff is going to fix a lot of the opt out issue, outside of the playoff bowls don’t matter
A player that never played?
FSU was claiming that if they won they were national champs. So I guess it was quasi meaningful.
But the rest of the bowl games outside playoffs are exhibitions. Hell they even let a team with 5 wins in a game.
Next year we have more meaningful games. Thank goodness.
Given opt outs and transfers most of these games suck. Set up bowls to start the year. Have a Labor Day weekend of bowl games. That would give them meaning
And I never said starters? Do we know if he would have gotten time?
Several players have opted out of the last few games over the last few years or entered the portal.
Agreed, nice to see him go out with a win. Wonder how long before NDSU makes a Mountain West / MAC type jump.Good for Craig Bohl at Wyoming. It’ll be a bummer not pulling for him anymore. You could tell they really played hard for that guy.
Not rooting for kleiman or the USC defense but it seems like a good coaching tree so far out of NDSU
Also having the Barstool guys doing the game made it interesting.Agreed, nice to see him go out with a win. Wonder how long before NDSU makes a Mountain West / MAC type jump.
We were told earlier that nobody remembers these exhibitions. It doesn't matter.Nope.
Scoreboard is what the casual fan will remember.

That game means nothing to justify the committee’s decision. I personally hope Michigan comes out and destroys bama by 30. Then we can really start skewering ESPN and the committee (moreso than they already have been)Between opt-outs, injuries and transfers they were down like 30 players. Georgia was already the better team, but this was never going to be close, silly to draw any major conclusions from this game.
I hope that happens but I think the opposite will happen because the Big 10 sucks. That game means nothing to justify the committee’s decision. I personally hope Michigan comes out and destroys bama by 30. Then we can really start skewering ESPN and the committee (moreso than they already have been)

Confession not accepted. We will not forgive your sins.I just put a bet for Iowa to win outright. I feel really dirty right now, but Tennessee is missing a lot of pieces. I hope that is money lost forever.
