Wasn’t it Okie St that put one of their managers in against us a few years ago? If so, eff those guys.
It was Chris Beards Texas Tech team that did that when we were at the lowest of the low during Prohms final years.

Testifying
Hope Omaha keeps battling in practice and gets the Defense down to a T. Could still come up big for us at some point this season, never know what might happen.
Edozie (whar) played big minutes for us to get past Carolina and into the Sweet 16.
Always need everyone to be ready.

It was nice to have 2 games without an Omaha discussion. Wish the poster that started it in this thread had just gone back through the old ones to find out instead of bringing it up.

I had no expectations as never saw him play before. Maybe I miss read, but thought there was threads here that suggested he would start. SI article from May'23 says he was potential lottery pick this year. And I don't watch much basketball outside of ISU, but think Karaban started last year on UCONN and just looked up he was a 4 star recruit.

Your first statement was my point really.
Sorry, I don't remember too many people suggesting he would start over King and that's what I was addressing specifically. I'm sure some thought he would start. Certainly everyone thought he would contribute more than he has. It's been dissaponting, and I'm sure he would agree with that. That said, we've also had players who I feel have exceeded expectations like Ward. He's turned into a really good player. And Jones has taken another step in his development as well. So overall while Omaha has been dissapointing we've had other players step up their game a lot and frankly the fact Omaha hasn't lived up to expectations just don't matter that much IMO. We've got a hell of a team regardless.

Omaha would definitely be a first-team all Big 12 player right now if we still participated in Cap City League

This is the first game he’s played in weeks so it’s relevant to bring it up. Look I get why people are annoyed to hear about it and saying it’s depressing is a stretch but it’s ok for people to be disappointed that our first McDonald’s all American in decades doesn’t play at all. Especially with the local connection. I was personally a fan of his and went to a lot of his high school games. He’s a good kid and I want to see him succeed here.

Just came here to say that Hason Ward has been an absolute stud since returning. I wonder if we beat Va. Tech and/or TAMU with Ward in the lineup.

Probably at least one. But the team in general wasn't operating as well. That version probsbly doesn't have a late lead at OU.

Oh well. Scrape together 6-7 more wins and it's likely a tourney team.
