It seems like you know your NFL. I want to argue with you but I know I'm biased and I know I really don't know WTF i'm talking about. From the limited NFL I have watched and many of his games in college I don't see how Hurts is any better (I think Purdy's instincts escaping/extending plays are much closer to Mahomes than they are to Hurts). The other four I do see some things you're talking about.

With our other superstar Tyrese he genuinely is the best playmaking point guard with clear separation (not talking about small shooting guards like Steph). It drops down to guys like Fred VanVleet, Lamelo Ball and Cade Cunningham after him. If you're looking for a Magic Johnson or Steve Nash superstar passing guard he is it. If you tiered him out with all positions I'd go

Tier 1: Jokic is tier of his own, only player I've ever seen get boring average effort triple doubles
Tier 2: Embiid, Gianis
Tier 3: Luka, Steph, maaaaaybe Hailburton (notice those are the first Americans)
Tier 4: about 12 players and Haliburton is in there for sure

I debated on Hurts, I went with tier 2 mostly because he's been to a super bowl but he's right on that 2/3 line you can make an argument either way on and I wouldn't disagree with someone's opinion if they had him down a tier.

I used to follow the NBA as a big Bulls fan growing up but I have basically lost interest in it over the years. Last time I maybe even remotely cared to watch some games was during the Rose era so probably over 10 years now since I cared to pay much attention to the league. I couldn't do a ranking or tiers at this point.

Missing almost an entire season’s worth of games in your first four years is pretty poor for a QB. Is any other top QB close to that record?
Drew Brees off the top of my head.

I’m sorry I’m just not willing to label a guy injury prone when a defender lands low on his knee and it explodes in game 10 of his first season.

However, this year's injury problems were of the non-contact variety. It started in training camp and never really got better. That's at least somewhat concerning going forward.

While he had a hamstring injury in training camp, the injury that derailed his season happened during a game when he was tackled by a Baltimore defender and landed on his wrist.

I agree the frequency is a bit concerning, but for playing essentially 2.5 years over 4 and still getting the Bengals to the AFC Championship twice and Super Bowl once tells me he is an elite quarterback.

It was a non-contact calf strain in training camp and those can be precursors to Achilles injuries. I forgot about the wrist injury, but those are no joke.

Calling some one elite is hard because we all have different definitions of elite. I see Burrow as good to great, not elite. Elite tier right now for me is Mahomes, Purdy, and Allen. Dak is knocking on that door, but he's ahead of Burrow for me. I'm not overly weighting team success as QB's don't play defense.

Then I guess I don’t know what you consider elite since Joe Burrow has had better statistical seasons in full seasons than Brock has. Higher completion %, more yards, more td’s.

Yes he was injured this season and Brock was injured last season. A fluke play in burrows rookie year but as I’ve stated I won’t hold that against him.

Because raw stats don't tell the whole story. When you start looking at advanced analytics, Brock starts leaving Burrow in the dust.

There was a narrative that Brock was a dink and dunk QB but that has been proven false for a while now. Teammates and QB analysts notice that he is actually very aggressive and pushes the ball downfield. The stats/analytics validate this.

I still think it is wild that Kyle Shanahan thought that Brock might be the best QB on the roster during his first training camp (based on the comments he told to the owner). Kyle knew pretty quick that Brock was the real deal.

I also heard that during training camp during his rookie season that Mike Shanahan was so impressed by Brock that he pulled him aside and told him to "be ready". Mike also said "the first practice I laid eyes on him, I saw it in him,'”.

M and A discussing Iowa wbb outgrowing isu mbb tomorrow. Murph led the discussion of topic. He is beyond obsessed.
Have fans/students been camping outside of CHA for multiple nights in freezing temps to see the Iowa women play?

The recent TV ratings don't support his position either. This is way past ridiculous at this point. I'm a big M&A fan, I podcast the show every day....but man, if CC returns next season, the obsession will reach critical levels.

I’d put him more in the 8-10 range.

Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lamar, Stafford, Herbert, Dak, cousins, then purdy, Tua, Lawerence, hurts. Maybe Goff before Tua and Lawerence.
There is no way I would put Stafford, Dak or Cousins above Purdy. Probably not Herbert either. I don't think it’s a stretch at all to put Brock in the top 5-6. His stats and film breakdown support that. The kid can play.
