Oh he was crapping on the Big 12's physical play in general and how it doesn't translate to the tournament. He's clearly not a history major... Iowa State and Houston are not the Huggy WV teams. They defend and they defend very well but and they are nothing like the WV foul fests.

How many titles does the Big 12 have recently? Lol.

Officiating in the tournament is a huge concern for me personally. Those games are always called completely different than what we see in the regular season. Not a bad point to bring up

If anyone can get their team to adjust, I trust TJ to be that guy.

Part of every NCAA game is using the first 5 or so minutes to feel how the officials will call the game. I'm not as concerned as others regarding officiating in the tournament.

Last year the Big 12 just did ok in tournament, the previous 3 or 4 years it totally dominated almost ridiculously so. Houston has been doing well in NCAA before joining and seem even better now.

I'm less concerned about it now that we have multiple offensive weapons. It was pretty scary when intense defense and running out on turnovers was the only path to winning.

The Big 12 has done more in the past 5 years of the NCAA tournament than the Big Ten has done in the past 30. Facts.

Just have to avoid stupid fouls. We foul so much we just can’t be giving them easy ones. Takes a lot of focus and discipline.

If we get the old Press Virginia treatment in the tournament we absolutely could be in trouble. Huggins' teams always struggled because the fouls got called in the Dance.

I feel like the problem Press virginia ran into was always that their system was kind of gimmicky. In the case of ISU and Houston, both are just really good defensively.

Yes, it was a physical game and I do have some concerns of how games will be officiated in the tourney.

That said, watching the defense for both teams last night, dang it was high level. Great 1 v 1 defense, loved how the teams double teamed in situations and the defensive rotations that were happening were pretty darn good.

In just about every defensive metric they are crazy good. There is some quantitative backing to the pedestal they are being put on.

You might be able to argue their style lends to a boring game or issues in close called games but too say it doesn't deserve to be considered elite is ignoring almost every analytical system out there.

I understand Travis is a moron, but concern about officiating in the tournament with our physical style of play is something you see expressed often on this board, so its not like that take is unique to Travis.

He was talking about the Big 12 as a collective in that regard. He also kept referring to "Big 12 officials" which isn't a thing....

Justice- we don't need no stinkin' justice! To paraphrase Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Travis graduatedfro Tri-Center and the walls are lined with his athletic accomplishments-not.

How does this “Travis” get paid to talk college basketball and he clearly hasn’t watched the ncaa tournament in decades? Does he work for free?

My hot football take is the SEC teams will all lose. Where can I pick up my check?

Do people have any data/evidence to back up this hypothesis? Common sense tells me that the TV networks airing these games actually want there to be less fouls called. Nobody wants to watch a free throw shooting contest with zero flow. I have to think that message gets sent to the officials working these games.

Networks may affect realignment but they don’t have a say in how games are officiated.

100% this. The game would have been so frustrating if they started calling frivolous fouls, instead they knew they had two defensive teams who were going to bring it all night. Sure, there were missed calls, but it was physical as all get out last night.

There seem to be plenty of listeners here when he pretty clearly hates Iowa State
