Oh for sure there would be a real shot at the top 2 seed. Head to head isn’t going to mean much. Houston still did get a win against us and more importantly they won the league we are in by two games over us. And to top it off, they would still be 30-4 and us 27-7.
I get that but we'd have the conference tourney and the head to head. You're right Houston is legit and should be a 1, but it will be highly debatable which team is better if we beat them tomorrow. Nice conversation to be having right now

Winning the regular season title by two games is way more impressive than winning a three-day tournament. And head to head isn't really a criteria, which sometimes is a little strange, but that’s how they’ve done it.

No, ISU is a “2” seed now. However, it would be better to be a “2” seed in the West than the East, where UConn will be. If ISU is s higher overall seed than Arizona, albeit both being “2” seeds, the committee could place ISU in the West Region instead of Arizona.
Ames is closer to Boston than LA. The only way they go west is if they have to balance the bracket in some way, but that is doubtful. Really wish we could jump Marquette.

Probably a two seed in the east now
Help me understand why wewould be a 2 seed in the east and Tennessee would be a 2 seed if the west. Seems like it should be the reverse.

Personally would like any region other than the East. Uconn for a trip to the Final 4 in Boston doesnt sound great.

How about both Houston and Iowa State a 1. With a UNC loss and an ISU win how about rewarding the best conference in the nation? PURDUE, UCONN, HOUSTON AND IOWA STATE

Except many were saying today's Head to Head with Baylor was for the 2 seed, so does it matter or does it not?

They seed based on the s curve. We are the #8 team. However, forecasted #2 is UConn and forecasted #7 is Marquette. They won't put them in the same region, so we'd take that spot and Marquette goes to Detroit in the Midwest

Dont think we jumped from #8 after that win tonight? Id think if we win tomorrow we are at the absolute LEAST #6 on S curve. Likely #5. Give me UNC as our #1 seed in the West.

If Tennessee is ranked above us, they go south because they are closer to Dallas. If we are above Tennessee, we go East because Boston is closer than LA.

That is assuming Marquette is ahead of us. If we beat Houston and Marquette loses to UConn, we would jump them to the Midwest.

I think 1 seed is a real possibility. Even if UNC wins, our resume is neck and neck with theirs. If UNC loses, then our resume is solidly above them.

It wasn’t so much the head to head, although being 2-0 against us wouldn’t hurt. But rather we were basically 8 and 9 on the S-curve and razor thin margins. So likely whoever won was getting the 2. We aren’t even close to Houston on the S-curve.

That's not how they do it. It is distance based. They don't match up 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 etc.

Jamie will be asked to leave the room.

I've wondered if having jamie on the committee is actually detrimental to us for this reason.

A different Big 12 AD, being able to advocate for ISU, might be better to have in the room
