That last one was just unfortunate. Young did everything he was taught to do and the dude’s head just happened to be there. Ultimately I think it was the correct call but I’m salty about it.
The ejection I always remember as being one of the worst was Beau Freyler getting tossed during the first possession for Baylor in 2022 at JTS. It's a routine tackle where the RB ducked his head at the last second, and Beau's helmet mostly contacted the top of the shoulder pad and then into the RB's helmet on the follow through. Another one where there was no flag on the play on the field, it was called down by the booth to be reviewed in super slow-mo frame by frame scrutiny.
Yeah, I think that one is almost an all timer (and the blarge). Now I’m all pissed off about those picked up flags at K-State. ******* ********
Got around to watching the whole thing
The last one where Isheem was ejected was so bad. I remember another game (I can't remember who against) but Purdy took a very nasty hit to the head..nothing. It is insane how inconsistent (at the very best) that rule is enforced.
Not sure of the officiating crew for that one ... but yeah, that was bs.I didn't watch, but is Montgomery's "fumble" that was a TD vs Memphis in the Liberty Bowl in there? That would have iced the game, I believe. Or maybe put us up 8pts with the pat. That was clearly a TD. ******just realized it was a Big 12 Ref thread. Sorry about that. Maybe those were Big 12 in the bowl game.
I believe that was also the only lost fumble for the entire team through that season. All the way up until the last possession of the season.....and it was an absolutely horrendous call even after review. Not sure of the officiating crew for that one ... but yeah, that was bs.
In addition to probably icing the win, it ended his carries-without-a-fumble streak.
I was at that Texas game and it was amazing to me how poor the refs were doing spotting the ball during the whole game. Almost every ISU play was spotted half a yard or more short and the Texas runs were always right on or a bit generous. I am convinced the fix was in on that one. Or at least one of the officials was working hard to make sure UT won.Weren't there back-to-back fumbles at the goal line in that Texas game that were both incorrectly ruled down by contact/forward progress?
I was at that game in that endzone. incredible. Kstate blew that game out of their asses.Yeah, I think that one is almost an all timer (and the blarge).
It also is a call that fuels my happiness when I think of Mike Rose with the strip/TD and the rest of that game where we sent Bill into retirement without a bowl.....and last years game with Abu running wild.
I know....glorious....although, we were favored so the first 3 quarters felt like a gut punch ....but, maybe that made it even sweeter!I was at that game in that endzone. incredible. Kstate blew that game out of their asses.
it would have been a record book too, as the only team to have never lost a fumble in a season. Not sure of the officiating crew for that one ... but yeah, that was bs.

That really pissed me off at the time. Such a bad call.it would have been a record book too, as the only team to have never lost a fumble in a season.
