It’s been discussed a thousand times over that selling alcohol outside of Sukup wouldn’t make us money. They’ve done a ton of research and analysis on it. Pollard is stubborn but he would sell anything if he thought he could make an easy profit.
I doubt that's true because I've seen it discussed on here that it would make millions.

I appreciate what you are saying and I hear you saying you don't have a dog in this fight, so by no means am I attacking you. I just think, in my relatively worthless opinion, the bar for amenities and perks that the Sukup could offer to make up for that is extremely low. I love JTS, but I'm not gonna pretend we have this amazing concession and bathroom experience that the Sukup can't possibly surpass without alcohol sales.

Overall, I trust Jamie and will fall in line with whatever he decides, come what may. Just have some skepticism like many others on this one.
The concessions at JTS are horrible. I’ve gone to many other Big 12 stadiums and ours are a joke compared to theirs.

Why would it cost that much? The beer would be marked up considerably and we're already paying concession workers.
There is overhead involved. More workers, insurance, security, etc. I swear I read Iowa only had a net profit of a million but I could be wrong.

I don't buy this for a second. It's a convenient lie told to give a reason for why we don't have beer sales throughout the stadium, but most people arent buying sukup seats just to have beer.

Being able to be indoors and dedicated concessions and restrooms are much larger selling points. People who just want beer are sneaking it in and not paying the price of sukup tickets for worse seats.

I’m telling you what the AD says. If we’re only looking at a million a year or so I find it definitely believable.

Listen, I don’t give a **** if we do or don’t sell alcohol haha. I actually think it would improve fan experience and will be a necessity as attendance continues to decline across the country (even though we’re not there yet). What I don’t understand is people who say we need to sell alcohol because we need the money or like that will solve all the problems.

UNI nets right about 70% of gross on beer sales. The university already has liquor liability and there was no increase in security needs, in fact, alcohol related incidents were down 35% over the first two years of sales.

Jamie is choosing to leave money on the table. He would see zero impact on premium seating sales.

I can't read that article you posted but that sounds wrong and a million isn't something to turn your nose up at.

How can you not understand this?

As fans we are told we need to swallow all kinds of garbage that makes the experience worse because the AD needs every dollar it can get. If the AD can make a million or two more from beer sales it absolutely needs to be.

Again, the AD thinks we will lose money on it. It’s been discussed a million times. Whether you believe it or not is up to you.

Why $X.49 instead of a flat .50?
They started doing that at Hilton, too, and I think it’s stupid. People won’t choose to buy a taco for $11.99 if they wouldn’t buy one for $12.00.
