So people throwing up on each other is adult behavior? Little confusing. ISU gives you several options to purchase alcohol at JTS. Sit in sukup, the club or get a suite and you can. I don’t see why it’s so difficult to sit 3 hours for a game. Most likely they will quit start of the 4th so now it’s like 2.5 hours you have to go without.
It is true people should be able go 3 hours without a drink but honestly I haven't been to a major sports event (college or pro) for years that didn't let you buy a beer . Only ISU football and basketball in Ames.

Not exactly sure.

I honestly can’t say. I hardly drink. If I’m tailgating most of the day it’s usually two beers or drinks and then water the rest of the day. Maybe one more if I go to a different group. I bought none at George strait and none inside wrestling nationals.

Are there other programs with a similar set-up where they sell the worst seats in the house as premium?
Are you asking if any other stadiums sell endzones as club section, premium seats? Pretty much every stadium that has done an endzone project in the last decade plus has.

Some with similar setups that come to mind:
Mizzou
Ol Miss
Miss St
Clemson
TTs new remodel

Those are just the ones off the top of my head. All have recently built endzone premium sections.

Premium and club level seating pay for themselves faster than low end seats, so adding premium features increases ROI.

You wouldn’t have gotten any into the strait concern.
That is true … security was tight that night. I had 1 beer during the concert and that is only because my wife stood in line for food for 30 minutes and brought me back a surprise beer.

I was at CY Stephens over the weekend for dance recital and bought a beer. Would have grabbed a 2nd beer at intermission but line was to long.

It's not, it's up to Pollard.

But we have enough belligerent jackasses in the stands already so we don't need more.

First, any adults who can't (or simply prefer not to) go all game without a beer are already having one (or more) during the game. It's no secret that many people bring in drinks..

Second, multiple places have experienced fewer alcohol-related events (AKA belligerent jackasses) when they've opened alcohol sales to the masses. Which makes sense, as fewer would binge at the tailgate and fewer would sneak stuff in if it were available to purchase. The high price and long lines slow down consumption enough.

This coming from someone who doesn't really care if they do or don't. I usually drive home so don't need another silo of beer to keep me going.

I'll keep sneaking my booze in at those prices.

25 oz beer, that’s about 7 bucks for a normal beer. Let’s face it’s we are pretty close to those prices in most bars in the metro

Somebody in Gatlinburg doesn't know how to spell BEER.

(just don't read the article: guess what they did to the hungry customer...)

This has been so thoroughly documented, I'm surprised people still argue the other way.

I mean, I'm really not that surprised. People refuse to surrender emotional based biases, but there's more evidence that selling alcohol not only doesn't increase alcohol related incidents, it actually decreases them.

I personally don't care much. I get to 1-2 games a year, and if I want to drink in the stands, I can sneak a beer or two in pretty easily. At lot of times anymore I don't at all and use the game to sober up from the tailgate. But I'm just tired of the constant back and forth on this, and it does seem like we're leaving a little revenue on the table in an era where we need all we can get.

I’m telling you what the AD says. If we’re only looking at a million a year or so I find it definitely believable.

Listen, I don’t give a **** if we do or don’t sell alcohol haha. I actually think it would improve fan experience and will be a necessity as attendance continues to decline across the country (even though we’re not there yet). What I don’t understand is people who say we need to sell alcohol because we need the money or like that will solve all the problems.

Yeah well JP isn't going to let the plebes have their beer because he's too worried about protecting the donors. Stadium wide creates two problems. 1.) You "cheapen the suites/club section experience and 2.) The re-entry policy will finally go away. I can tell you right now, he's more worried about #2 than he is #1.

If it’s at the expense of losing out on going out at halftime, I’ll pass

The whole re-entry policy was a losers mindset. With the product we have on the filed now leaving at halftime should be a one way ticket. FWIW I'm a donor and used to go out for a beer or two as well but that has all stopped since CMC came to town.

Well then, wtf Jamie?
