What issues will there be for scanning football tickets this year?

Downloaded my season tickets for the upcoming fall season yesterday and it got me thinking about what the whole process is going to be this year compared to last year. Don't know if this will change or not but last year if you went in from the north side and your game tickets are on the west side you had to be in like the first three or four lines. If you went to the lines east of those, you get directed to head up the east ramp and walk around the upper concourse on the north end.

I wish they would have a designated line for season ticket holders. Like an express line at the grocery store. We have been through a football and basketball season of the new system. We know how it works.

I'm pretty confident Pollard was on KXNO last week talking about a slightly different process for scanning tickets while entering game this season - I cannot remember specifics but maybe someone can chime in on that.

some NFL teams have that

would be a welcome addition at JTS

maybe not a bad idea for WeWill and @brentblum ?
a designated ticket line that WeWill members have priority access to

He said you can go up before the game and scan your ticket then get a wristband and go back to tailgating. When you go in to the actual game you just have to go through security.

That's going to be really annoying and will end up causing more confusion IMO.

a designated ticket line that WeWill members have priority access to
Step 1 - locate WeWill special entrance
Step 2 - navigate past those being turned around for not being WeWill members
Step 3 - stand in WeWill line, bonus points for locating WeWill member ID
Step 4 - roll eyes at more non-members being turned back
Step 5 - scan WeWill ID
Step 6 - proceed thru WeWill line entrance
Step 7 - locate ISU game ticket
Step 8 - scan game ticket
Step 9 - smile, you saved time standing in line

I didn't think lines were bad towards the latter part of the season. And, if they are long at this point in the tech adoption cycle, it means fans are coming to the game bc the technology is no longer the problem

I just want to get my tickets. Tried to download to my wallet tonight and all the parking passes worked, but only the first two games would transfer.

Yeah I don't recall many issues at all the last several games. We just leave the tailgate a little early (with a couple roadies for the walk) to make sure we have plenty of time to get in for band/team intro stuff.

I think some people expect perfection which isn't really feasible given all the factors. Yeah, I get it, that one big venue in that one major metro city provided a perfect experience for you that one time. I'm not sure we could even find another 100+ people who want to deal with drunk people for $15/hour on the weekend, but that's probably what is needed to make parking or getting into the game better.

If it's a dedicated line then fine but if it's just people pushing their way to the front then I can see it being a problem. Honestly, I really don't think they need to change much. More scanning machines fixes everything and after the first game or two I thought it went really well last year.

More scanning machines wouldnt be the problem. Finding more people to man the machines is the problem.

I never had an issue with that last year,
LOL, my tickets never worked as they were supposed to. The only way I was ever able to get them to work was to bring up the barcode and scan each one, that way. The tap feature never worked not once. Football or Basketball.

As a matter of fact, a couple times they did not work at all, and the worker just waved us through, because the lines were a mess.

I only went to four Cyclone games last year (3 FB and 1 MBB), and for each game there was a person working each scanning station. It seems to me to be not much different from the days when all tickets were scanned by a person holding a scanner. Now it is a person standing by a fancy machine. Maybe I am just not aware of something.

That seems odd … can you tap to pay at stores?

It depends how it's set up. I don't think very many people are going to bother walking all the way to the front gate just to get a wrist band ahead of time. Do we all have to get a wrist band to get in even right before the game? Is there going to be a dedicated line off to the side for those that got wrist bands early? Those are the type of things that will determine how well it works. Seems unnecessary to me because by the end of last season things were working pretty well.
